Well, no need to apologise, you just tried to make a point andI don't mind being schooled

On the other hand, I can see no difference between having NHL release close and ability to terminate your contract whenever you want to. It's the same thing achieved different way.

And if you ask how many NHLers does not sign new deals it's the same situation for John Carlson, Kulikov and P.K. Subban. The market price seemed to be somewhat unknown for young up and coming D's and they all remained unsigned.

KHL club can not sign NHLer who has contract in NHL (before lockout is officiall) to "normal" 25 men roster. That is case of Magnitka, club has one free slot for foreigner, club wanted to sign NHLer to have 4 NHLers (malkin, gonchar, kulemin+ foreigner), but KHL said it is not possible. Confirmed by GM of Magnitka

If it's true, then good move by Semin.

Neftekhimik leads the league as of today. Nail should help them stay up high.

Any news on Ovechkin from Russian sources? He left for Russia last week, and was going to spend his birthday in Moscow with family and friends(tomorrow) so he's in Moscow.

It's his cousin.

Более того, предметно переговоры даже не велись по причине того, что представитель хоккеиста не выходит на связь.

Google translationavel Lysenko Our correspondent reports that Ovechkin in Moscow "Dynamo", most likely, will not. Moreover, substantive negotiations were not even due to the fact that a representative hockey player does not communicate.
Anyone gotta better translation, I think hes making an ASSumption, maybe says something about Ovechkin not having an agent?

Yeah, cousin, sorry.

They (Dynamo) couldn't contact Ovechkin's representative/agent/whoever, so there's no way he plays for his home team.

Pavel Lysenkov now tweets that Anton Khudobin agreed to a contract with Atlant Mytischi, their next target being Loktionov (Lokomotiv property).

They did, but it doesn't look serious (Spartak's general director said that the offer is all about special relationship between SpaM and Kovy, not about salary races).
Lysenkov also tweeted that SKA has Kovy's word about playing for them, but the contract won't be signed until Sept. 18th.
