The Penguins didn't feel confident of those guys plus Jeff Zatkoff clearing waivers, they will sign AHL contracts with Wilkes Barre during the lockout so they won't have to be put on waivers.

Will Zatkoff play in WB this year? He was a great pick up.

In the last minute flurry of contract signings today, there have been a couple of notable names that haven't ... namely PK Subban and Evander Kane. The about to expire CBA was set up so that they had until December to sign or they would sit out the rest of the season ... brings up all sorts of questions. If there's no CBA, they can't continue to negotiate, right? You'd think they would want to get that done before the current one expires.

The "honor" of the last contract goes to...

Oh, btw... Evander Kane wasn't the last player to sign before the lockout. It was Matt Martin; 4-year deal with NYI. (17 players in 48hrs)

I think so, the Penguins didn't put them on waivers but talked to them about signing AHL deals with WBS. Tangradi, Strait, Bortuzzo and Zatkoff are expected to sign with WBS on AHL contracts.

WBS defence is going to be stacked if Bort and Strait sign AHL deals.

Strait - Bortuzzo
Despres - Reese
Morrow - Dumoulin
Mormina - Sneep
Samuelsson - McNeil
Grant

I'd read this before from someone who was at the gym when he (Tanger) was working out.

Puck Daddy's Dmitry Chesnokov broke down the KHL amendment to allow lockout NHL players to play in the KHL: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...5356--nhl.html

So far, Geno and Sarge are with MMK and Kulemin is expected to sign there as well, so they're basically at their limit.

Kovalchuk will play with SKA.

Datsyuk signed with his old team AK Bars.

Ponikarovsky and Fedotenko will play for Donbass.

Jagr and Plekanec will play for Kladno.

Bryz is expected to sign with CSKA.

And here's a link to the KHL website in English:http://en.khl.ru/

Anyone looking for streams can shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to provide the ones I have.

So you'll provide us with KHL streams eh??? Thank you Sir.

Two questions:

When is the first MMK game and what time will it start? It's 11:22AM Eastern time here so, what's the time difference?

9am Thursday, IIRC. The times are in the 24 hour format, Moscow local time, which is 8 hours ahead of EST. Not sure when we go to slow time, but Russia doesn't so then it will be a 9 hours.

I'd rather they just rest and be ready.

They haven't played hockey since April. They're rested.

Let them work and get into game shape.

So in short that means...MMK games will be at what time in terms of Eastern time zoning??

Not something insane like 1AM my time right?

it is noon in Pittsburgh and 8 PM in Moscow right now. If games start at 7PM in Russia, they would be on at 11AM in Pittsburgh. 10AM in Pittsburgh once we hit daylight savings time.
