Also Prough and Campbell I'm fairly sure aren't CT property anymore.
Where are they then?

Free Agents.

I'd assume Campbell might go back to Stockton on an ECHL Contract . Prough no idea but I wouldn't be shocked if he went to Europe/

didnt Hobbs sign an AHL contract?? is he ECHL or AHL bound?? i wonder what type of player is he...not a good sign to sign a prospect to an AHL contract...i guess the Rangers felt he wasnt good enough to get an NHL contract yet...

Looking at some class players other teams have assigned to their AHL affiliates, the Whale might get killed on some nights.... Others have Burmistrov and Eberle, Whale have Tommy Grant. Eeeek.

Lol. 76 pts in the NHL and top 15 league wide scorer in the NHL. Let's see how he does against AHL defenders.

Thank god the Whale don't play OKC!

Although I'd love to see Eberle and RNH tear up the AHL.

from snyrangerblog:
Forwards: Ryan Bourque, Tommy Grant, Michael Haley, Marek Hrivik, Kyle Jean, Chad Kolarik, Chris Kreider, JT Miller, Kris Newbury, Brandon Segal, Christian Thomas, Jason Wilson, Andrew Yogan.

Defense: Sean Collins, Steven Delisle, Dylan McIlrath, Jyri Niemi, Blake Parlett, Logan Pyett, Mike Vernace.

Goalies: Jason Missiaen, Cam Talbot and Scott Stajcer

Upfront they will be fine with Kreider, Thomas, Miller, Hrvik and guys like Newbury, Kolarik as vets. Segal and Haley will do very well in the AHL too. I would not worry about the F

D and G yea some question marks

I think there's some potential in the group of goaltenders. All 3 have shown some upside along the way. The D, however, is pretty thin. It's to be expected though given how young our NHL defense is.

NHL contract so he's locked out. Rangers dont want to pay him 6 million in the minors anyway. I would bet Redden is a UFA after the lockout

I believe this is only players with an NHL deal. AHL & ECHL contracts + camp invitees not included here. Anyone have a complete list of Whale training camp participants (if there is one)???
Mucho appreciado!

At the end of the day, it'll be interesting to see if the Rangers decide to play JT Miller in the AHL or send him back to juniors. I'm guessing that a big part of that decision will be how he performs at training camp.

I'm curious to see how Thomas and Yogan perform in the AHL. I have my doubts about Thomas (hope I'm wrong), but I have a funny feeling that Yogan will grow into a contributor for the Rangers within a couple of years. He seems to have NHL size, and a game that should translate into making him a solid bottom 6 player.

They'll be at http://ahl.neulion.com/ahl/

You pay $6.99 for live games or $149,99 for all season with your team (and I believe it's $299,99 for every game in the league, not sure about that one, tho).

Prices are last year's, but they've stayed the same for three or four years.

Glad they'll bring back Klassen
Without Redden, they only had 2 Lefty D (Vernace, Niemi) along with 5 Righty's(Collins, Pyett, Parlett, Delisle, McIlrath)
Once they passed on Myles Bell, coming out of Dev camp, Klassen made sense as young D prospect in the pipeline, IF he'd sign an AHL deal. He improved each year.
I had hopes for Collin Bowman (Traverse City'11) or Dan Maggio(NYR pick), but each have signed elsewhere
---
Just a handful of guys who had Whale contracts, or wore Whale colors, last season remain free agents - Bouchard, Tanski, Bell, Mckelvie, Kerbashian, McNaught, Campbell, Prough.
---
Of those, IMHO only Bouchard, Tanski or Campbell deserve another chance w Whale.
Bouchard because Whale lost too many leading scorers, Tanski to fill that 3d-4th line role that he, Owens and McKelvie had last year, and Campbell because his 2d half, and especially his playoffs, showed what he could contribute.
---
Bouchard will always remind me of the bonehead move of trading Kundratek, which looks even worse now that v-Tank is in Europe and Erixon in Columbus

There are lots of players in that lineup that I'm excited to watch in the AHL: Kreider, Miller, Thomas, Yogan, McIlrath, hell, I'll enjoy watching guys like Haley, Bourque and Jean too.

Hopefully, this lineup will distract me from the frustration of the NHL. Honestly, I haven't watched much AHL in my day but I'm looking forward to it this year.

I'll definitely go to some Whale games when they come to Bridgeport. Hartford is very far for me.

I hope they have some games on MSG. I remember in 2004-05 Sam and JD called a few games.

Even if it's Giannone and Maloney a la Traverse City, that's good enough for me.
