Would like him on Ottawa. MPS has all the potential in the world but he's overshadowed by the Big 4 in Edmonton.

I remember a while ago, we discussed something like MPS+ for Clowe.

Not quite but if they play all year and as a trio I don't see any reason why RNH and Eberle couldn't be 110+ point guys next year and Paajarvi being over a point/game.

Id say keep him and eventually he will be a fixture on the 3rd line (2nd line potential if everything goes right). Not every pick needs to be a top line player especially 10th overall
Do you have a link for that article? I heard him say that he worked on his upper body in a video on the official site, but I didn't hear much more about it.

This is a very good starting point for both sides.

SJS need more speed and skill in their top 6 and also need to get younger. Paajarvi could fit that bill as a LWer.

Oilers need a tough guy who can also play as a top 6 player. Clowe fits that bill perfectly. Also the veteran experience is also bought in as Clowe plays for a perennial contender. I don't see Clowe burning out either, he's one yr removed from 62 pts.

Hence why he won't be traded.

His value in a trade is lower now than his value to the organization so trading him would be brutal asset management.

If he doesn't break top 6, unlike many other guys we have up front, he will be an effective 3rd liner in the NHL, like a Radek Dvorak.

i think at some point my bruins will need to move some contract. Im not 100% sure that Edmonton will be able to take contract on at that point.. but MPS is the type of guy a team moving contract would value in return.

He wouldnt be worth any of Boston's expensive top 6 forwards by himself... but toss in a first round pick and then something something... and there might be a deal to be had?

I like the guy and believe he will have a long NHL career... but his value isnt really high at the moment so if I was Edmonton id try to rehab him before moving him if they move him at all

Being in Alberta you likely know that we aren't needing a top 6 guy unless it's a 2 way centerman (Bergeron), elite player like Seguin (we have 4 of them, but IMO you can never turn down elite talent) a pest like Marchand or the big/tough winger in Lucic. So which one of these would you see getting moved? And no I don't think that Paajarvi alone is worth any of these guys.

Lucic - RNH - Eberle
Hall - Seguin - Yakupov

Just a dream.

That's the only reason Klesla has any value. You've got to give to get. With the addition of Michalek, trading Klesla wouldn't leave the hole it would have. And if Gormley gets some AHL time in before a season starts, moving Klesla so younger guys like Summers and Gormley can start getting time might be attractive. Especially if the return is a talent like Paajarvi.

I'd rather have Klesla. Michalek replaces Rozsival. Gormely/Summers/Stone replaces Aucoin. Phoenix is in good shape. Klesla brings a physical presence that team needs. MPS will be hard pressed to get playing time in Edmonton. He certainly won't get top 6 minutes.

Ok, here's my best try at meeting your criteria....

To EDM: Krejci, Paille

To BOS: Gagner, Paajarvi, option to flip 1sts in 2014 or 2015, becomes a 2nd if option not exercised.

6.55 mil leaving BOS, 4.725 coming in.

He is like Tlusty was in Toronto. Not worth much but he may be a surprise playing somewhere else.

This is a great answer to the op. Pajaarvi is the type of player who has a lot of tools and should be a top six player. There is little reason to believe he won't be. But unless Edmonton can package him up with another asset or two to get either a top pair defenseman or a big second line center, they'll keep him. They aren't in a position where they have to sell youth for low. Especially with what looks like another year of development for their kids before NHL hockey resumes.

I believe he still has top 6 potential but could you imagine a future 3rd line of Paajarvi-Lander-Pitlick.

Would likely be one of the best third lines in the NHL.

This thread seems like a repeat...

Oilers should hold onto him a this point, his value is alot lower than it should be right now.

Oilers would be pretty foolish if they barter him off with his value being all time low, however from what I caught in the AHL games. He is slowly starting to get it together. If he can do that, watch out.

That Oilers AHL team is a decent look at what their line-up will be in 2-3 years...

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Hartikainen-Green-Paajarvi
Cornet-Lander-Keller
Hamilton-Vandevelde-Pitlick

Schultz-Plante
Marincin-Rodney
Teubert-Chorney

Danis
Roy

Minus Yakupov, Klefbom, Bunz, and veterans
