It's been so long since the Habs have been playing for something that we simply forget and don't care anymore.

Me either.. I wasn't happy when they lost a full season the last time but this time I don't really care how long it takes for this to play out..

I think finishing last in EC last season and having an almost medicore line-up and coach to start the next season doesn't help.

Like some here. I don't care anymore. The NHL is a fringe sport in the States and is being run like a 3rd rate league. Blame goes all around, but Bettman has done a terrible job. Screw the owners, bettman and the players.

OHL and Hamilton games all season, I guess. At least I won't have to take a 2 1/2 hour break playing NHL13

Looking forward to seeing more CHL games and AHL games though.

I guess we should expect the higher paid NHL stars to be signing elsewhere in mass now while this ugly mess plays out.. It must suck though for the lower paid depth players of the NHLPA who aren't good enough to get signed elsewhere.

Nah man I don't feel bad for them but it still must suck for them seeing their higher paid NHLPA brothers finding work elsewhere while they can't get paid to play hockey..

Now would be a perfect time for RDS/TVA Sports/Whatever to start broadcasting Bulldogs games. Imagine watching our prospects in HD on TV.

The average NHLer plays 5.62 seasons, the median is 4. http://www.quanthockey.com/Distribut...erLengthGP.php

It sucks. It really do

A lot of NFL and MMA will fill the void for me i guess. Hoping for a resolution ASAP so that we may have a chance at a shortened season.

Edit : Oh yeah and the Bulldogs too !! I know may have more time to follow them more closely.

If Bettman’s next offer gets worse, Fehr has hinted the players would “reconsider” their options and made it known they may ask to abolish the cap and return to a free market system.

I don't care anymore. The Habs have not played for anything important in a long time. I cant remember what it feels like to watch an exciting team on the ice. As well, I just cant relate to the problems of players getting 2.5 million a year to play a game. I can sympathize even less with the owners who have brought this on themselves for letting these ridiculous contracts exist. As stated in a previous post, I worry most for ushers, workers in concessions, servers in restaurants, who need money to pay rent, feed families, and go to school.

can malkin and gonchar(and whoever else signs in another league for a year) veto the deal when the nhl lockout ends or do they have to play out the entire season?

I believe it all depends on the contract. It could be a week by week or game by game type contract that allows them to play overseas. I do know though that when/if the NHL gets back up they will return to NHL teams.

This lockout was the straw that broke the camels back for me. This greedy fight over money has sickened me to no end.

Because of this, I have made a vow to never again spend any money on anything NHL related in which the money goes to the NHL and NHLPA. This means not buying NHL13 or any other NHL game ever again, unless its from a second hand/pawn shop. Never buying any more jersey's or any other NHL licensed object. I rarely ever go to games, but now I will spend my money elsewhere instead of in their greedy pockets.

To hell with them all imo

I hope the Bulldogs will play a couple games at the Bell Centre like they did last year.

Donald Fehr is the devil. (No offense to the thread starter. )

When he started working for the NHLPA, I knew that we were going to have to endure a lockout.

Fehr is the biggest tool in a room full of tools.

I have a feeling that I'll start to miss hockey when the weather gets cold. When the sun starts setting early and the cold starts going right through you, it's always comforting to have a habs game to watch.

Right now, the weather is too nice to get too worked up about this lockout.
