Anyways, MS has re-iterated my trepidation on this type of selection. Nothing more needs to be said. Made my point. Hope it works out. Still a Canuck fan.
Rudely dismissing people doesn't make their sentiments incorrect. It just makes you a jerk.

The Canucks brought this kid to their rookie camp, liked his skill set and decided it was worth a contract. The only reason you're dissatisfied and want to see him tracked longer is because the information YOU want to use to decide this player's worth (points, etc) isn't available to you due to his injury history.

Read this thread through again. Tell me the first point at which this conversation had devolved from calling a risk a risk, to making light of one's reservations.

I think you'll understand why my post had the tone it did.

And I don't care much for sentiment. Especially if expressed poorly. But that's besides the point...

What ranking should we give him HF style? 7.5D?

The cost of tying up a contract isn't that great. In a worst case scenario where you need to free up a spot, trading a second or third tier prospect plus a late pick should accomplish this.

For example, Philly traded Legein and a 6th for future considerations so they could keep Couturier up.

Based on that potential cost *if* we need room for another contract, McEneny seems like a reasonable gamble with his upside.

Haha, but we need some more guys who shoot right, to complement all these lefties.

Tanev, Corrado, and Price are the only RSDs in the pipeline, unless I'm missing someone. Add Bieksa, and that's it for the entire org.
