Can we pry a player from waivers? I only ask with the possible lockout didn't know how it effects waivers. I really like Zach Boychuk wonder if we can get him only 22 and is a former 1st round pick by Hurricanes.

Haven't heard of any players being claimed. Can you say "colusion"!

It only makes sense to claim a player if you want to keep him on the NHL roster. And if you do that, he can't earn money in the NHL, thus screwing the player. I don't think anyone will complain about no one getting picked up.

As an article I read about this before said they're supposed to have a wink wink nod nod agreement not to claim players. The last time the NHL did this for 04-05 only Francois Beauchemin was. He went from Montreal to playing for Columbus' minor league team Syracuse during the lockout.
