The woman who sits in front of TrueBlue has already called her credit card to put a block on any charges from the Rangers/MSG.

this was my email

I just read that someone who sits near me spoke with someone from MSG who said they would be charging subscribers for September and October since there would be no home games played. First I would like to know if this was true.

If in fact it is, I will gladly tell you that I will be calling my bank and having the charges reversed. There is no way we should be getting charged when the owners voluntarily locked out the players. That is in excusable and unfair to your customers. Let me remind the Rangers of an email the parent company sent to Knicks ticket holders during the NBA lockout last year.

Moreover, for those subscribers that are current on their season ticket payments, we will not collect additional payments for the duration of the work stoppage and are providing you two options for your money currently on account: (i) the Knicks Loyalty Plan, where you can keep your money on account and earn 2% interest, or (ii) the Refund Program, where you can be refunded for games paid for and cancelled while earning 1% interest.

Hopefully we get treated the same as Knicks fans did last year. I will gladly get my bank involved if the Rangers try to charge me while they voluntarily lock their players out. I will certainly pass the word along so more season ticket holders don't get screwed.

I don't think you can stop a recurring payment at the card company, they will make you dispute it after the fact. The only way I know of is to cancel the card. Reporting it lost/stolen (I am not advocating fraud, just saying how it works!) may also work but some people say legitimate charges can pass through to the new card number (I doubt that myself)

Minnesota Wild offering 10% APR if you keep your money with the team:

http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/170035286.html

...That interest can be used as a credit in their account. When a game is at least postponed or cancelled, from that moment, if a season-ticket holder keeps their money in their account, the STH would receive 10% APR interest for each day it remains cancelled or postponed and last until the NHL announces a new schedule.
… To give you a sample, Anaheim and Los Angeles is offering 5%, Buffalo and Columbus are at 4, Winnipeg is at 3, Chicago is at 2. From Wild sources, I hear Nashville is the only team that's right up there with the Wild...

FYI: Bruins ARE making season ticket holders continue to make monthly payments EVEN IF they select to get missed games refunded monthly.

So, they will make a 20% monthly payment and get refunded only for those games played (i.e. roughly 18% in Oct, 16% in Nov, 20% in Dec) before they get full refunds for missed games in Jan-April.

And the offer is 3% and no increase in following year tickets if they keep your money and 1% if you elect refunds.

Gretchen did the same for me. Not paying them a dime until work stoppage is over. Good on Nyr for doing so.

Not sure if anyone brought it up but they may get STH's for a preseason game this year right? If they end this in late October or later, MSG will be ready and they will definitely play at least two exhibition games.
