Kubina

I don't post on the Flyers board often, but is anyone interested in bringing back Kubina on a one year deal? He either wasn't 100% in his stint here or just didn't care. Maybe extended time off would improve his play?
Edit: He could thrive with 2nd unit PP time IMO

He was definitely underachieving last season.

There has been some speculation about him playing hurt on HF boards before but nothing ever confirmed by the team. It seems more likely that he is spent and his game is breaking apart now that he is getting older and slower and he can't use his body that efficiently any more.

Pass on him. We already have Lilja in a similar role.

I'd rather try to acquire the services of Derian Hatcher or Mark Howe than re-sign Kubina

He was terrible, worse than Lilja.

He's 35 years old. It doesn't matter what the excuse is.

He will play about 10 minutes from my home during lockout so I might have a look whether he really sucks that bad due to his age or the injury was really a problem... But I don't think there is space for a guy like him in Philly anymore.

Didn't he sign there before the lockout was even announced? I think it's safe to say his NHL career is probably finished. He has just lost so much foot speed he really can't keep up.

Honestly, I have no idea. I was trying to dig some info on that all yesterday and today and I haven't found any (czech) article mentioning whether it's just temporary (lockout) or permanent contract. But from what I've seen from him in certain matches this spring, he isn't good for this league (NHL) anymore. Hopefully it was just an injury because czech hockey keeps losing good Dmen in the last few years.

Plus he doesn't bring anything that we don't already have on the roster, short of another right handed shot. As others have said, he's done in the NHL. In typical Flyers fashion, they got a guy about 5 years past his prime and paid dearly for it.

I think he was done anyways. He was hurt, and he really wasn't that good beyond that.

He's playing with HC Vitkovice in the Czech Extraliga and signed a full 1 year deal so we wont be seeing him on the flyers
