How is this Brett Pollock doing in the pre-season. Anyone think he'll make the team? If so, the OK's would have a lot of C's on the team: Lazar, Samuelsson, Ewanyk, St-Croix,Benson. Any of these guys can play on the wing
2011 first-rounder, Aaron Irving, got reassigned today. Thought he might be in the mix for a 7/8 type role like Geertsen was last year but I guess he will be playing Jr. A in Bonneyville this year.
Also very impressed Pollock and Mysin Dayo have been able to stick around as less-heralded types.
Bet you see an overage defenseman added, still one slot left, and they won't hesitate to add at the deadline if there is still holes up front. I still don't know how much you can count on Lowe without his security blanket Pysyk there, a guy like Edmundson from Moose Jaw might become available via trade.
I hope the Oil Kings try and acquire Murray and McNeill, would be awesome, plus it gives them both a chance to compete and to win the Memorial Cup for us.
I was looking at the Oil Kings roster this morning and Sieben looked like the odd man out to me so I'm not surprised. I'm curious what happens on defense. Wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Dech is the odd man out. Gernat is still injured though so maybe they keep eight healthy d-men and make a decision when Gernat's ready to go. Bob Green said they'd cut down to 23 or 24 and right now they're at 25 with Gernat.
Anyone looking to break into the football business the Eskimos are hiring.
Edited your post to play with you, my friend.
Back on topic, I have my tickets to the home opener and I am so excited. With no NHL hockey for at least the next while and the Esks and football Bears sucking I hope Edmonton falls in love with this great team as they march all the way to a Mem Cup (fingers crossed).
Shaw is broadcasting 32 WHL games which includes 6 Oil Kings games. The games against Calgary, Kamloops, and Saskatoon should all be pretty competetive, unfortunately those are all Oil Kings home games so hopefully that doesn't deter people from seeing the games live. It's nice that the Oil Kings get three of the first six broadcasts and five by December 12th with the lockout going on. Although, hopefully it doesn't last that long.

I think the city will finally learn to aprrieciate the Oil Kings. Also acquiring a big name player would also get the interest of the fans.
Sounds like on Gregor's show Moroz will be 2nd line with St. Croix
I would consider that the 1A line with Foster or Wruck when he's healthy, and Legault - Lazar - Samuelsson being 1B. I'm excited to see how the young guys do on the 4th line. There should be a lot of healthy competition for ice-time.
