I've never seen a back that is more reliant on his o-line than Johnson, and that goes for when he was putting up big numbers as well. With the Titans o-line not being as good now, I don't see any hope for him. It's like he's incapable of creating his own yards. Thankfully I didn't take him.
Chalk me up for "being forced to start him." I was really banking on him returning to somewhat dominant form. I only have 2 starting RBs, him and MJD. Drafted Royster thinking he was going to be the starter (he was the starter on the depth chart), and Wilson being the backup for Bradshaw. Now this Andre Brown guy out of the blue takes the backup position. Just a mess for me so far. And the people in my league just sit around the house all day refreshing injuries online, and picking up backups the millisecond they see any action... One guy in my league has NINE RBs. Yes, NINE. I keep saying there should be some kind of restriction on that crap. He has Sproles, Lynch, BJE, Tate, Gerhart, Brinkley, Daryl Richardson, Turbin, and McCluster.
“The run game ain’t working,” Johnson said. “We just aren’t executing the plays. I don’t know why we’re not.”
“People need to step up and do their job,” Johnson said. “They don’t need to let people beat them. It don’t matter who the opposing defense is, you can’t let your guy beat you. You just can’t give up plays. You have to make plays like they make plays. I can’t speak for the defense. I can only speak for the offense.”
I too am in this predicament. I have a trade lined up that is Chris Johnson and Titus Young for Marshawn Lynch and Anquan Boldin. The guy is considering it, but I HIGHLY doubt he takes it. I didn't wanna draft Johnson. I was picking 7th/8. But he was the least of the question marks available at RB at that point over guys like McFadden(injury history), Richardson(Unknown/had injury), Jones-Drew(holdout) and Forte(Bush in Chicago/injury last season). I, like everybody else, was banking on him somewhat returning to his form. And, obviously, he is far from it. He has been a complete disaster as the title says. He basically has me at 0-2. I am going to try to deal him this week (if possible) and If I don't, I might give him one more shot against a weaker Lions run defense for Week 3. If he fails, which I expect, I'm done. I'll try to trade him and if unsuccessful I might seriously waive him. And to think I used my first round pick on this guy. Talk about a setback.
