It`s tricky. While I don`t think he dove if we go by the virtual book of dives, he definitely wasn`t trying to stay on his knees. Understandably so though, as a goalie, you know that your health is in stake. Everybody knows that knee caps are extremely important for a goalie, and very injury-prone (see: Harding). Even nowadays, when the technology of padding is rapidly progressing. The contact itself didn`t cause what we see in the gif, but you can`t blame him for doing what he did. And certainly can`t blame Poni either. Now THAT`s how you drive to the net. Gonna miss the big man.

agreed he didnt try to stay on his knees. i think thats because he thought the puck was ricocheting off the boards and popping up on the other side (which I think it did)…so he was trying to move laterally.

i will miss poni though. huge OT goal, largely forgotten, that set us on our path past philly

Meh, I don`t think he pushed off because of the puck going the other way, BUT I can guarantee if it was just laying there, he would`ve stayed on his knees even knowing he`s risking an injury. That`s just the way it is. And yeah, definitely going to miss Poni for everything he did for us and for who he is. Good, smart and humble guy and a damn solid player as well.

I think Poni didn't feel like waiting for the ZP mess to subside.

The thing that really got me about Lundqvist after that gif was he started pouting along with a few other Rangers that something should have been called

This too. We'll never know for sure, but Marty, and Moose weren't even signed yet by the time Poni walked. He walked very early on the 1st too. Can't blame him at all. I think Lou was holding off on signing every player that made more than a million until he at least made his highest bid on Parise.

We'll never know for sure if they were interested in Poni that much though. He could have been a cheap 12-15 goals plus everything else he was good at which was more than just scoring.

Devils' players are renting out ice at Prudential Center practice rink during lockout. Not allowed to use team locker room, other facilities

That`s just disgusting. Who`s decision it is? Is it a league-wide thing?

League wide. I think most players are doing that right now.

Someone posted pictures of the Canucks skating with their practice jerseys on inside out.

But, I read that Bruins players are skating at Harvard, instead, though.

So they have to pay to use the Amerihealth Pavillion ice is what I'm guessing? I thought they weren't allowed to skate there? Or is it okay because they're paying to use it?

It's okay because they are renting it out. Hey more money for JVB

I just thought of that. Who gets the money if they rent it out? JVB? Well that should help with the financial problems!

Seriously though **** all these owners who are renting out rinks to their teams that support this lockout. What a ****in joke!

The players couldve gone to any of the local rinks and also wouldve paid to rent the ice. I fail to see how this is newsworthy.

If the players want the fans to be on their side, they should practice at different local arenas.

Fans are never going to be on the players' side, that's part of the problem and why the owners feel they can be ***** about this whole thing. By and large fans are either going to be in the school of 'a pox on both their houses anyway' or they'll be jealous and wonder why players getting paid an average salary of millions of dollars need even more money.

Fans get jealous of players because they dream of being players. Fans don't get jealous of owners, especially since they feel that owners 'should' get a huge majority of the profits since they own the teams. As if sports are a normal business.

Great post. All I`m going to say is that I`m happy I`m not one of them and I know that there are people like me out there.
