There should be a list of what Devil players are playing for what teams during this latest labor fiasco:

aka: Kovy - St. Petersburg, Henrique/Yayo/Larsson - AHL

LOL! He's on a two way. I'm surprised he won't be in Albany. Let's be serious he's highly unlikely to find work elsewhere.

I guess Lou doesn't want him taking time from younger goons lol...not as if Cam really needs to be on skates to practice what he does

btw:

TGfireandice Ilya Kovalchuk is expected to play in SKA St. Petersburg's next game Sunday at UHC Dynamo.

I still think he's pretty much replaceable, but I agree, I would have preferred to keep him and retain our insane forward depth.

I didn't really wanna keep Poni if Parise had stayed, and I still didn't wanna keep him cause I thought we would have to pay him $2.5 a year. Winnipeg got him for about what he made last season, and for only a year too. Would have been ecstatic to have him back at that.

Poni's style of play is nothing but a boost to DeBoer's coaching style.
We need another one of those on the team.

Big body, defensively responsible, holding down the fort on the 3rd line while being able to chip in 2nd line minutes when necessary.

He wouldn't have cost much and I wanted him back.
He's obviously replaceable, but there's not much of that available without having to sacrifice assets.

But, Lou was hung up on Parise and the team with Poni's BFF came calling. He had no real attachments to the team other than one good playoff run. No way to stop that loss.

Poni would have been great to have back, but in the end it's not a big deal. Can't blame Lou for trying his darndest to re-sign Zach.

Devils need to obtain more offensive awareness and creativity up front. While I liked Poni, we already have a lot of him on the team (Zubrus, Clarkson, etc., players that are physical and decent offensively but don't have much hockey sense). Let's sign Kristian Huselius for our 2nd line and PP and call it a day.

Love Kovy but Datsyuk is the easy choice.

I was expecting a landslide in Datsyuk's favor, I gave Kovy a sympathy vote... but it's a little closer than I thought it would be.

I can't vote on this one I don't know why? It don't have the boxes to fill? If Kovy wins I'm assuming he'll go up against Weber. Malkin will win this thing for sure.

Also an interesting note on Jacob Josefson after going through his game log. He was only a - rating in 2 games this season, and one in the playoffs. The lone even strength goal he was on the ice for in the playoffs was the first goal in game 4 of the SCF that should have been blown dead, but wasn't, and one of the games in the regular season he was a minus was against the Rangers on a goal that happened 3-4 seconds after he left the penalty box. He wasn't shutting down top lines, but I think he probably could center a shutdown line in the future. Hope he can develop a little more of a scoring touch.

I'm not seeing the option to vote either, but somehow Kovy is ahead right now.

...if the poll is officially closed, then Kovy pulled off the upset I guess.

Impressive considering he was about 7% behind when I posted that not too long ago.

Who cares if Kovy's better? We're still gonna finish 10th in the Conference at best this year!

Proof that Devils fans do exist. Apparently we voted enough times to put Kovy over the top.

I love how it was Kovalchuk vs Parise, and Weber vs Suter in the first round match ups.

Whoever bumped the old thread threw me off, but here's what I just posted in it.

I don't like the fact that everybody is looking to go play overseas now. Instead of trying to stay here, and work something out they're frantically jumping on KHL contracts only a week after this lockout began. I'm not talking Kovy. I'm talking about the report about all the guys who wanna get KHL deals now like Giroux, and a bunch of other names. What a bunch of crap.

I hate that there's no incentive to get this deal done as soon as possible.

NBC is still paying the owners.
Players are still getting escrow checks & signing bonuses and many of them still have a chance to play professional hockey.

There's no urgency.
It's like a bunch of whiny, snot nosed middle schoolers forced to work on a group project together.
