The Rockford IceHog Game Thread

This thread will be different then the stuck prospect thread as this one will focus on only the Hogs and all of the players on the team.

As the only person here who actually goes to the games as a STH, and recieves all of the away games on my TV package, I will offer my insight as to what is actually happening instead of speculating or getting info off of the internet, its the least I can do.

One thing I can do is stream the games directly off of my network package, which is what I did for my friends last year. You will need a password to actually watch the games of which I have.

Players to watch this year, imo, are Morin, Beach, and Pirri.

Enjoy the games.

I personally don't have season tix because my work schedule on nights changes too much, but living equidistant from Rockford, Peoria and Chicago I get to see the Hogs play about 20-25 games a season in addition to lots of other AHL games. I respect your opinions Martini, but I definately disagree on alot of your player evaluations based on my own personal viewings.

I actually thought it was a good idea to have a seperate Ice Hogs thread just for this season or until lockout ends.

Joakim Nordstrom scored his 1st goal of the season in a 4-3 OT loss to Brynas.

All seven of 'our' CHL prospects get their seasons underway on Friday night.

Maybe a little early for "Draft Watch 2013"...but, for your reading pleasure, NHL Central Scouting has released its preliminary list:

My non-educated guess.

Morin - Pirri - Shaw
Saad - St. Pierre - Hayes
Beach - Kruger - Smith
Paradis - Leblanc - Froese
Bollig

Olsen - Leddy
Lalonde - Stanton
Clendening - Youds
Lavin - Dahlbeck

Hutton
Simpson

I have no idea. Heres mine -

Beach, Kruger, Hayes
Morin, Pirri, Shaw
Saad, St. Pierre, Smith
Paradis, LeBlanc, Broadhurst
Bollig

Lavin, Olsen
Leddy, Lalonde
Stanton, Dahlbeck
Clendening

Hutton
Simpson

I have no idea who gets first line C. Kruger, Pirri and St.Pierre I would think are the 3 options for the top 3 lines. It will be interesting to see how it works out.

Stanton and Dahlbeck are both LD but I think they would both place ahead of Clendening.

Probably that veteran presence we were talking about before. He's also from Chicago, works out nicely for everyone.

Send a message via AIM to brtriad
Ledba is laughable as an NHL regular, but as an AHL vet I like him on the roster.

And wait Dahlbeck is on the Rock this year? I thought he was playing another year in the SEL?

Lebda better just be for Rockford and be a Souray-esque situation.

Lebda being a hometown guy. Experience, Detroit connection. I wouldnt be suprosed if he gets an assistant coaching spot in Rockford at some point.

Broadhurst's first regular season game with the Knights this evening. They've got him 2LW, I think. We'll see how he does.

So far tonight:

Broadhurst primary assist on goal by Max Domi

Brandon Whitney has stopped 8 of 9 shots after 1 period.

Garret Ross primary assist on Vince Trocheck goal.

Nothing yet for Danault, Brown not playing yet(20 minutes) and anyone know why Dillon Fournier is out?
