There probably isn't any goalie in the world who could be good when playing in current Ilves team. They are just hopeless.

Yeah. The team is hopeless. They got the worst offense, defence, goaltending and coach. Maybe also the worst GM.

Kid's a beast, he could probably step into the NHL next year and make some noise as a rookie. His puck protection skills using his massive frame and ability to find seams is impressive and will serve him well once he reaches the NHL. & I love that goal song, I now watch all of Tappara's highlights everytime just for that song hahaha, if any Finnish buddy has the link it would be appreciated!!!

Watch the overall play in that goal and you guys can notice that how smart he is. He didn't pass the puck until his skating direction was to the goal(An average NHL player would pass istantly). He lured 2 players including the guy who tried to block shot but was too late because he left his spot to try to take the puck off Barkov. Without all of those little moves that goal wouldn't even excist. In that pass in the end of the game when he passes to the blueline and doesen't rush on the goal despite there is less than 10 seconds of time and the team is trailing by 1 goal. That pass to the blueline was key in that play, opposite players had to spread from infront of goal closer to blueline which opened great set up chance. His coolness in his game is very impressive. God sake there is less than 10 seconds of ice time and this barely 17 year old kid looks as cool as veteran and set up chance with his smart game. Barkov already thinks the game in the other level. Just an really smart kid. He has scored all of his 3 goals infront of net. Once he passes the puck he skates directly to the goal so there is little bit North American mentality in his game.

Here you are. The point of this is to drive opponents crazy. In Tampere this is still trendy

He kind of reminds me of Jagr a bit. Maybe not that high end of offensive talent, but much better in the defensive aspect of the game.

He's still growing. Was 6'2, now nearer 6'3. The article is about it.

Yeah, some old measurements were 6'2 (188cm). So there's the same thing. He is at 6'3 now and maybe still growing.

Barkov just scored Tappara's second goal of the game. 2-0 goal against Blues was scored by Barkov and assisted by Nieminen.

Barkov scores his 4th goal with an sharp shot! This guy is on fire and is constant treath in the offensive zone so far solid game and excellent on the all zones. He is going to be superstar in NHL if he developes like this.

I suspect if he had Swedish skating, he would be going 1st overall .

You guys really underestimate the ability of a Nathan Mackinnon and Seth Jones, the two players who are right now ranked ahead and could be the entire season, not saying he's not a special prospect and he could very well be drafted first overall but respect to the other players abilities ...

I think the underrated prospect is going to be Barkov anyway.. there just is the trend of drafting prospects playing in NA.. unless the talent level is very clear (i.e Ovechkin & Malkin)

.75 goals/game and 1.32 points/game. Drafted ~2nd overall. You heard it here first.
