The commentators were pleasently surprised and mentioned his name a lot. Looks like AIK has a pretty bad team this year but that might be beneficial to Jensen in terms of ice time and responsibility.
thanks for the summary. Do you know how long he'll be playing on the 3rd line and move up to 1st line at some point?

I guess it's a matter of "earning it". Note that the SEL is a very high level, in my opinion better than the AHL and only slightly under the KHL. What I can say is that I have not been impressed with how AIK has been playing so far, at least offensively, so at some point I guess they need to try new options.

Man...if there is a full lockout, we could have Jensen and Kassian ready for NHL duty next session

It's an honor and privilege to be named captain of the Sudbury Wolves! Let's have a great year boys.

2 Captains in the OHL are Canucks prospects, character players folks, character players...

So many captains-massive rifts and team splintering lie ahead. It's going to make Team Jacob vs Team Edward look like a love in

Price is a tri-captain, one of 3 guys all wearing the C (all D-men iirc) . . . wonder if they're going to have guys wearing the A as well?

Alphabet soup.

Nice problem to have. Congrats to Price and Corrado on the C, and nice to see Jensen get his first SEL goal.

Alex Grenier has 2 assists in 4 games to start the year in Austria.

Wouldn't it be nice if Grenier proves to be a late developer? I'd love to see forward of his size with play-making skills.

Anyone seen this yet?

http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1381

Pronman's top 100 prospects. The Canucks have Jensen at 88... And that's it.

Some obvious comparisons between taking Rodin vs. Tatar, and Erixon/Despres/Palmieri over Schroeder will occur. As the Canucks had a chance to take said players. Frankly, I'm surprised Schroeder isn't listed given Pronman's preference for skill... But meh.

How competitive is the Austria league when compared to other European leagues? I can't imagine it's very good. I would think he'd need to be at close to PPG this season for it to be considered any kind of success.

If anyone is looking for a place for player statistics (including prospects), I put together a website that pulls stats and puts them in one place...http://canucklepuck.com/Statistics/PlayerStatistics

Bookmarked! Many thanks!

One thing I'd like to suggest though...any way you can add a column for which league the players are in? It's pretty obvious for the pro league guys but the prospects over in Europe/NCAA can be a bit confusing sometimes.

Absolutely, I'll add that in tonight. My goal with the site is to listen to what all of you guys want with the site. You got something you want added, let me know and I'll see what I can do. We're hoping to add a ton of awesome functionality in the near future.

Could you maybe add the goalie's record? I know it's more of a team stat, which is maybe why you left it out. Up to you...

Also I wonder about Schroeder's work ethic being criticized after his latest season of play. That was the knock two years ago. I'm wondering if Pronman hasn't really updated his knowledge of our prospects in some cases.

Though they do not qualify as a Pronman prospect, he organizationally ranked Kassian and Tanev ahead of Jensen (who made the list).

So, yes, therer's cause for optimism.
