Marlies on TV?

I have a quick question for anyone who is in the Know:

Will any network be picking up the Marlies games this year? I was pretty disappointed at the number of Marlies games on LeafsTV this past year.

Minor league sports don't tend to attract much in the way of advertisers.

That's normally true but the AHL is the only game in town this year.

Local broadcasters tend to pick it up. That being said Leafs TV will most likely cover it this year.

If the cost-benefit ratio is break even and there are no rights conflicts at least then Leafs TV may do it but until there is a lockout during the season and games being missed I can't see the Leafs actively promoting an alternative to the the NHL product.

The AHL has a deal in place with Sportsnet in Canada for additional game broadcasts if there is an NHL lockout.

I hope the Marlies are on sportsnet!

Can you actually consider Leafs TV an official hockey broadcast?

It always seems like an assignment from a Grade 10 communications technology class.

Have you ever watched Rogers coverage of the OHL?

Considering I'm in grade 12 and have been taking communications technology for 3 years now, that is deeply insulting to grade 10 comm-tech assignments.

CBC had a bunch of games last year, including their Outdoor Classic.

I don't remember one single Marlies game last year on CBC. The Marlies outdoor game was shown on RSN, if I recall correctly.

Looks like I was off by a whole season! Where did that time go....

Blame Burke?

Grade 10 students everywhere take offense to that statement.

whatever the case is, i just hope our boys break our expectation for the better not for the worse. I am not relying on leafstv as much because they have quite a while before they actually become a respectable channel. They aren't that great tbh.

They sure as hell better be broadcast on Leafs TV. If not, there is absolutely no point in the bloody channel even existing.

They already show a handful of games on CBC. I hope that frequency increases with the lockout.
