I can't stand how sluggish your players are in the defensive zone. Also it seems like they completely neutered the cycle in this game. I used to cycle behind the net and in the corner all the time in NHL 12 but my guys don't move without the puck.
The game reminds me way more of FIFA than it ever has. It's way more dependent on making smart passes and defending areas instead of just playing the body or going for the poke. Both are huge improvements.
not really. teams that play like that in the real NHL get beat the **** up in the playoffs.
I really like NHL13. Gameplay is better and more realistic, just need to play at a higher level and while playing offline, just play with the sliders.
Connected GM is great, I really like it. Funny if you think about how Madden Team messed up with their game while NHL made it almost perfect for a 1st year inovation.
Keith-Seabs
Hammer-Lydman
Leddy-Lepisto
Smaby/odonell (cuz i cant trade his old ass or get him claimed off waivers)
current injuries: Kane 12 weeks, Jhayes 10 weeks/ ALL post concussioin syndrome
I will have to send down some players once kane and jayes are healthy. My idea was sullivan and selanne(most likely be claimed off waivers) im currently 8 mil under cap
I have managed to gain 4 1st rnd picks, 3 3rd rnd picks, 2 2nd round picks, 3 4th round picks.
I have traded krueger, oduya, bickell, stanton, flick, AND swapped a bunch of my later picks for earlier round picks.
I also seem to have a hard time trading via trade blocks when i initiate a trade. However the computer proposes some pretty sweet trades in my favor that i accept. i know alot of my players are older in the 35-40 range (will probably retire after the season) but i am just going to resign new free agents and i haave a total of nearly 15 picks for next years draft.
Seabrook - Keith
Hjalmarsson - Leddy
Oduya - Montador
Crawford
Emery
Blew through Calgary and St. Louis in the first two rounds, was breezing past Vancouver in the WCF until Crawford went down with an injury. Somehow I managed to squeak out a Game 7 victory against the Canucks with Emery in net only to drop the first three to the Hurricanes. Blew them out 7-0 in Game 4 at home and lost the next game.
Pretty good first season overall, won the Jennings and Kane managed to put up 45 goals and 51 assists for 96 points.
Hope you sim a lot of the regular season. Otherwise, I wish I had the kind of free time you do
It's about 50/50. And I only played the home games in the playoffs.
That being said, I've been playing it for 3-4 hours a day after work since it's come out. I'll probably give it a rest for a few days and then get into free agency.

Had a pretty decent draft, selected a stud d-man 29th overall. I forget his name, but he's already rated a 71 overall (the game considers him a top 6 dman) and he's my #1 in the A right now. Kruger took a huge step in development over the summer so now he's slotting into the third line. Seabrook also managed to win the Norris.
Signed Dustin Penner as third line LW, Scott Hannan as #6 D and Troy Brouwer as a bottom 6 RW. Minnesota offered Granlund for Beach, a scrub and a 2nd and I took it and ran.
And SOD, Lepisto, and Brendan ****ing Morrison lol.
I'm the Hawks in my GM Connected league and its pretty damn fun. Can't decide if i want to trade for a goalie or trade for a 2C or trade for a high 1st rounder to draft a goalie.
I am the Hawks too, I made the move everyone said not too but got an amazing return.
Traded Kane, Hammer, Crawford, Carcillo, McNei, and a 3rd pick for Kosistsyn, Klein, Weber and Rinne.
Moved Kruger, Bickell, Emery and a 2nd round pick for Clowe, Gallardi and Griess.
Lastly moved Oduya for McQuaid.
My roster.
