Gustafsson is a very intriguing prospect and he's so young as well. Man, we have a stable of great goaltending prospects; Hackett, Kuemper and Gustafsson. I wouldn't be surprised if we moved Hackett and Kuemper and let Gustafsson play in 4-5 years.

Well it seems out Houston team is going to be ABSOLUTELY STACKED.

While I really really want to see MiG play in the NHL, I think it is a pretty unique experience that will be good for the youngsters to grow and gel with each other not playing with the big boys right away. I understand that the 04 draft class was deep to begin with, but my god, so many good players got to either A) play in the AHL or B) go back the their junior leagues and ripen their skills. I think Coyle, Zucker, and Brodin would benefit the most. Possibly Bulmer too.

Not having an NHL season, or not having part of it sucks big time, but I will say, as many have said before on HFB, it's never a bad thing to let prospects develop.

How much is a package to watch Houston?

All of our prospects are eligible to play in the AHL except for:

Raphael Bussieres - Too young from CHL
Mathew Dumba - Too young from CHL
Tyler Graovac - Too young from CHL

As a side note, while all of our USHL/BCHL/NCAA players are eligible to play in the AHL, that would make them ineligible for NCAA play.

The rule is simply: CHL players must be 20 years old by December 31 of the year to be eligible to play in the AHL. That's why Phillips is eligible (late '92 birthday) despite being drafted in the same year as the ineligible Tyler Graovac (April '93 birthday). For every other league, there is no minimum (well, there's probably an 18 year old minimum, but the draft has that as well so it could never be an issue).

With the Aeros being stacked to start this season, does anyone know if there are rules in sending down players to the solar bears? im going to assume there isn't and some players will be, but who do you think it will be?

I have no clue. Wouldn't think there could be any rules.

The same rule likely apply as usually do with no new additions, but I don't know what any ECHL-AHL transfer rules are.

Just where Coyle and Phillips belong.

Coyle's been overrated since he joined Saint John, and I really think Phillips' hockey IQ is underrated.

With two sets of Wild prospects back-to-back, I get the feeling that as Pronman was finishing up one write-up, he had an "Oh yeah, almost forgot (so-and-so)." No big deal though. Nice to have six in the top 100.

There should be a larger gap between Larsson and Phillips though.

I'd agree. Larsson is NHL ready while Phillips probably needs a couple years.

Depends on your ceiling projection for Larsson. I obviously haven't seen much of him play (on account of the whole Sweden thing) but my impression is that he tops out as a slightly better Brodziak. A high end third liner who can play in the top 6 for injuries is a great thing to have, but Phillips' ceiling is much higher than that (accompanied by a huge bust potential of course).

I really think Phillips gets a bum rap around here. When he was drafted we heard a ton about him being a product of Huberdeau, but then Huberdeau went down and Phillips played his best hockey of the year. He has a knack for playing with talent, which is a very underrated ability. Most players end up like Seto, deferring to the stars when the best option is to do things himself. Many end up on an island, unable to pass or even to see the play open up how their linemates do. So far from Phillips I've seen both that awareness when to take it himself instead of defer, and the ability to see the play at the same level as the stars on the team. A player like Phillips will be if he reaches his ceiling isn't the guy that wins you the Cup, but he's the kind of under the radar guy you don't win without.

You see Larsson as a slightly improved Brodziak, I see Larsson as a Koivu clone.

Hi guys !

I really had no idea where to post this, move me if needed. I am not a MW fan, so i don't perfectly know your prospects.

I wanted to know how much time do you think Coyle and Zucker needs to jump in the NHL?

I'm in a sim league and i acquired both player since im "kinda" rebuilding. (i couldnt post in Sim Leagues thread since i just joined. League is 66% NHL, 33% League btw)

I traded :

Charlie Coyle
Keith Aulie
vs
Andrej Meszaros
7th pick

and

Jason Zucker
Matt Calvert
vs
2nd and 5th round pick.

Tell me what you guys think, if i made good moves, and how much time Coyle and Zucker still need to play the big league

Thanks Guys

- A Habs Fan

i dont think coyle is that big but i could be wrong. (checked wiki: Coyle 208, bulmer 204. idk how accurate that is)
