Tod Leiweke's letter to season ticket holders:

Quote:
We have prepared a Lightning Loyalty Reward program to fairly compensate season ticket members for any missed games, should that occur and will communicate that program to you shortly.

That video made me sick to my stomach. Also owners can kiss my ass too. Although I am leaning more towards the owners, I am still thoroughly pissed.

The NHL announced Wednesday it had canceled all preseason games through Sept. 30, the first official fallout from the lockout of players that began Sunday.

The Lightning's remaining preseason games are all against the Panthers: Oct. 2 in Estero; Oct. 4 at the Times Forum and Oct. 6 at Florida.

Tampa Bay is expected to announce its ticket refund policy soon.

Cares about the fans? Cares about missing games? Or cares about 7% of already a lot of money. Burning my Stamkos jersey as I type this.

Meanwhile every game that MSL misses is a game he will probably not be able to play ever again.

I've had it with all parties involved. The whining from players is getting old. The stubborness of the owners has been old. When they decide to come back and quit *****ing about how to split a 3.3 billion dollar pie, I'll be a good little sheep and go to games. Until then, I'll wait for my refunds for my season tickets and lead an actual life. I'm thinking a nice weekend in Siesta Key with the wife for starters.

As far as hockey, I'll have more time to follow the kiddos and maybe catch a few games in Orlando.

Jay Feaster could solve this issue.

but then he'd probably give the pie a NMC...

Why can't the NHL hold a conclave with the PA until a deal is done?

A local dealership gave him a car as an endorsement, I don't see why you're so upset about that.

For second time in eight years, NHL lockout costs Tampa Bay Lightning a significant marketing opportunity
Quote:
It was interesting Thursday to hear Tod Leiweke talk about the NHL's current player lockout, because it is exactly how the Lightning viewed the 2004-05 version.

"Hopefully it gets resolved," Tampa Bay's chief executive officer said. "We've worked so hard to grow and maintain. We don't want the wind out of our sales."
Quote:
For the second time in eight years players are locked out in a labor dispute, and both times — in a stunning display of either bad timing or bad luck — it has disrupted the Lightning's chances to make even more inroads, competitively and economically, into its non-traditional market.
Quote:
"What they're trying to do with the anniversary is find an emotional connection with the fans," said Campbell, now an executive vice president of a local real estate investment firm. "Next year they'll come back and say it's the 10th anniversary of the Stanley Cup champion. You work with what you're dealt."

Steven Stamkos has not decided to play in Europe, agent Mark Guy said. But Guy confirmed that Switzerland's HC Lugano is one of "many teams" that have reached out to him.

I'm really ****ing curious what Tim Thomas has to say about the lockout.

For a guy who always 'stands' with the stereotypical Republican side, I'd really like to ****ing know where he stands on the labor negotiations.

So a quarter million for Devellano. Too much, or way too much?

It does back my theory that Gary is losing his grasp, and the only way he knows how to maintain it is with billion dollar fines.

So sick of both sides in this whole thing.

The PA is letting the players (and their agents) say what they want, wish both sides could be on the same page. Seems kind of unfair for Devellano to be fined that much, when players are saying a lot more about Bettman and the owners.

Then again, this is apparently a PR war for the players, so of course they're going to keep talking.

Not IMO. While missing games with Bettman is a foregone conclusion, you never know how many games will be missed.

He was new and some of the 94/95 season got played. You never know when he'll slip up again and sign a CBA.

Meanwhile, I have an idea.

"Package for you, Mr. Bettman. They need your signature."

Can we kidnap Buttman and replace with Pee Wee Herman? Maybe they are the same person, have they ever appeared together?

You need to have your blog registered with the hf partner program.

https://sites.google.com/a/hfboards....artnersprogram

The link says they've suspended taking applicants, but I'm not sure if that's true.

That's a great blog post. Good start and the conclusion was perfect. Good job, and don't stop. Looking forward to the second post.
