Plekanec is the team's most experienced and complete center and last year's poor season should not make us forget he's also a very good scorer. Plekanec had a 69pt season when he was Desharnais' age after all.

Plekanec on the 3rd line is 5m$ spent to shut down opponents and score 30pts while getting criticized and run out of town. Plekanec on the 2nd line with actual good players is 5m$ well spent to shut down opponents and score 50+pts. Its very bad asset management.

If Plekanec plays on the third line its going to be in a few years, he will be great there then, when he's slower due to age and loses his quickness on the offense. Right now he's still at an age when he can put up points and should be given every chances to do so.
3 rd line first pk second pp and all last minute of each period .... wich mean around 22 minutes per games or so ! Things is if Eller don,t step up you put Pleky back and that it ...

Our Powerplay could have scored 0 goals last year, Prust and guys like him should not be on the powerplay.

Oh no, not Prust on PP, not even on the 2nd or 3rd wave please.

In terms of offensive skill, I think Prust is ranked about 10-12 among our forwards. I think Moen has more offensive talent than Prust.

Do you know how many career powerplay goals Prust has? ZERO!

Montreal's powerplay wasn't bad last because it was missing guys like Prust. It was bad because of the set up and the fact that in the first half of the year they no skill at the blue-line. We also had grinders like Darche and Moen on the PP for a good part of the year as well.

Guys like Prust should not be on powerplays. If they are, then you have a problem.

You can play guys like Prust on the seconde vague of the PP, just to park his ass in front of the net. Because we all know we haven't had anyone willing to do this besides Darche.

You need skill on the PP. We had Moen and Darche and the PP last year doing exactly that and it was still crap. The powerplay improved once we brought more skill in Kaberle at the blue line, took Plekanec off the point and put him on the second wave.

Prust should not be on the Powerplay, especially at the expense of guys like Eller. There is no reason he should be there.

You know there will be injuries, these are the Habs, we will see Prust and Moen on the PP.

I absolutely agree with this.

1st wave: Pax-Desharnais-Cole
2nd wave: Eller-Plek-Gionta
Backup: Bourque, Armstrong, Leblanc
I think that Leblanc will be much better than last year. Was he injured at the beginning of the season and missed the training camp ?

In an article by Stubbs, he says Therrien told Prust he'd play on the 3rd line and would get some pp time on the 2nd wave. He said if he (Prust) works hard, he'll even get 2nd line minutes.

Prust forgot to mention one important thing about signing for the Habs: his girlfriend is working and living in Montreal.

I was one of the biggest pro-prust cheerleaders going into the off-season, but if Therrien is seriously considering giving him consistent 2nd line minutes if he just 'works hard', then he's an even worse coach than most of us thought.

Ovi...you have a knack of summing up my thoughts on a matter into such concise statements.

People lost their **** when Moen was playing in the top 6 and on the PP, logic would dictate that having Prust there will be equally as fustrating. But this is HF boards...logic is The Joker if Hf Boards.
