Kruger took a huge step in development over the summer so now he's slotting into the third line. Seabrook also managed to win the Norris.

Signed Dustin Penner as third line LW, Scott Hannan as #6 D and Troy Brouwer as a bottom 6 RW. Minnesota offered Granlund for Beach, a scrub and a 2nd and I took it and ran.

2013-2014 Roster:
Stalberg - Toews - Kane
Sharp - Bolland - Hossa
Penner - Kruger - Brouwer
Carcillo - Madden - Hayes

Seabrook - Keith
Hjalmarsson - Leddy
Hannan - Oduya
Montador

Crawford
Simpson
Krüger becomes a good player in the 2nd year. Cheap to keep and will deliver and win faceoffs

Beach is a stud and so hard to check. He is fast for his height... just compare him to Jayes in the game

haven't started a BeaGM yet, play a GM Connected with a buddy
and after 3 games, Sharp ends up with a concussion and will miss 40 games

traded away Oduya, Bickell, Frolik, Emery, Montador, (Morrisson, Brunette), and half of the prospects

Paajarvi - Toews - Kane
Sharp - Krüger - Hossa
Carcillo - Bolland - Stalberg
Frolov - Shaw - Jayes
now signed Zherdev as UFA and he scored the GWG against the Wings in his debut

Keith - Seabrook
Hjalmarsson - Blum
Leddy - Rozsival

Crawford
Bernier

and got Grigorenko

I let him go to free agency after he demanded 1.1m for a one year contract. Simpson is just below him in terms of overall and is playing for half the price. Kent knocked it out of the park in pre-season, too. I'm not totally sure where Emery ended up or if anyone even signed him.

Traded Kane, Hammer, Crawford, Carcillo, McNei, and a 3rd pick for Kosistsyn, Klein, Weber and Rinne.

Moved Kruger, Bickell, Emery and a 2nd round pick for Clowe, Gallardi and Griess.

Lastly moved Oduya for McQuaid.

My roster.

FORWARDS
Viktor Stalberg / Jonathan Toews / Marian Hossa
Ryane Clowe / Patrick Sharp / Sergei Kostitsyn
Michael Frolik / Dave Bolland / T.J. Galiardi
Andrew Shaw / Jamal Mayers / Jimmy Hayes
Brandon Saad

DEFENSEMEN
Duncan Keith / Brent Seabrook
Nick Leddy / Shea Weber
Kevin Klein / Adam McQuaid
Sheldon Brookbank

GOALTENDERS
Pekka Rinne
Thomas Greiss
Trading Kane was a big time mistake, he produces like crazy in the game. Good trade for Clowe, but he becomes a UFA in the summer of 2013 if I'm not mistaken and Kruger blossoms into a pretty good third line center.

shaw takes a jump up to 78 in the second season and the computer will throw some pretty sweet 1st round + picks at you. i wont bite on em however cuz the way shaw plays in the game is flippin sweet. solid 3rd line right wing or move him to center

He would be unsigned in the CHL until you sign him.

Is there some secret to taking face offs in this game? I can't win these damn things, right now 2/14 in a game against the Blues. Used to win every time in '11.

Yeah, I mean Bolland and Toews take probably 60% of draws (Cs are Toews, Kane, Bolland, and Kruger) and I still can't win them. I expect to lose with Kane and Kruger, but with Toews and Bolland I should get at least half.

At least I'm improving defensively. I was dog **** against the computer a week ago. Started off 0-3, but have now won 4 straight. Probably gonna play until the 15th game or so, then start simming most games until the ASB, then see where I'm at.

They've sucked all the fun out of this game IMO. Goalies make every save on any type of pass across the slot, but they give up the cheapest wrist shots from the blue line or anywhere near the slot . Breakaways are still super easy but other than that, this is basically a complete luckfest from the 11 games I've played.

Really? I think it's a blast compared to '11. Never played 12 so I can't compare it.

Elaborate, I still haven't bought it yet. I definitely will though, just curious what you don't like about it.

Cold I edited my previous post to explain a little bit. I've played 11 games online and I'm 10-0-1, so I'm far from struggling to adjust to the game. I appreciate the effort to make the game realistic but I don't enjoy playing the game. They went overboard IMO. A mixture of 11/12 and 13 would be great.

The poke check is way too strong, the players are insanely sluggish when in your own zone, and for some reason I can't get a cycle going in the corner in this game. Everyone without the puck basically stands still. 12 had awful player AI away from the puck but they could cycle. IDK what's up with that.

i think the 2013 defense controls are awesome you can really take away passing lanes. you cant just rush the guy everytime skating into the zone or you will get burned. you really have to keep the player to the outside and then drive him with the body and eliminating the passing lanes. i have also figured out gliding and pivoting the control stick and using the skate hard method to gaing speed and gain a step on defenders. i think its a huge improvement.

Agreed. I was an avid player but I just can't seem to get into this one. I think if they fixed the goalie issues you mentioned, the sluggishness of the D, and had the AI actually do something it would be a great game.

I'm still in the top 2k of online versus, but winning doesn't make it any more fun when I win because of the aforementioned issues.
