As for the Leaf rankings, they have consistently over estimated their players for a number of years, as I believe is normal around the league. I think the Sens estimations are in simply more accurate. Both Stralman and Reimer graduated as 8.0 C, just like Karlsson.
Yeah can't wait to hear about how Morgan Reilly is the second coming for the next five years.

It is also hard to take it too seriously when they cannot get some basic facts correct. Noesen was drafted 21st last year not 24th.

Ya.

I love hearing how great Joe Colborne is going to be. Guy will be lucky to play in the NHL. They have him as their 3rd best prospect. Pretty sure Weircioch outscored him during their draft year. Doesn't say much, especially when Boston deemed him expendable. But I'm sure he'll be ranked a 7.5D. It's actually humourous to go read the writeup on him. Everything is not his fault, and excuses are made as to why he hasn't lived up to expectations so far.

Colborne is just a sad case.

For a guy that is THAT big, it's pretty pathetic how horrible he is physically.

Well the same could be said of Spezza for a long time. Not until last year did he actually try and throw a hit.

As for Leaf fans and their prospects, this is what happens with the nuttiest fan base in the league. Every prospect is hyped to the extreme it's just what happens. We've seen this movie before too, Stajan. Wellwood, Schenn etc the list goes on and on.

So Silfverberg hit Markstrom in the neck/throat with a shot today. Good thing it didn't hit him in the adam's apple.

http://twitter.com/i/#!/j_markstrom/...com%2FX2H26rzK

Either that or he gave him a hickey.

Lmfao, Markstrom says how thank God it's Silfverberg cause he doesn't have a good shot. That better be sarcasm.

I like the Purcell comparison. He was undrafted, but tore up every league he has ever been in. 83 points in 67 games as a rookie in the AHL is outstanding. He was just buried behind the depth at forward in LA like Boyle was.

I think Stone will be better earlier though. 65 points is damn good no matter what age you are, but it took Ted until 25 and going to a bad NHL team where he could get ice to be a good NHLer.

I think Mark can make the NHL as a regular in 1-2 years. For this year, on a stacked Bingo team, If he scores 60 points, I think thats a huge success.

Hes the type of player you make room for. Fehr and Purcell are more complimentary players IMO.

Also the fact that he tagged Sberg in the tweet would indicate they're buddies

Pronman put out his top 100 prospect list today.

http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1381

15 - Zbad
43 - Ceci
51 - Silf
70 - Stone
87 - Prince

Teams with more are Isles (7) & Fla, Minny & Det with 6. Flyers only team with none.

I just don't see that much upside in Ceci. Hope I'm wrong.

How Rickard Rackell is number 34, and Noesen not even mentioned, blows my mind. Same age, same draft year. Noesen goes 21st, Rackell goes 30th. All in all, that doesn't mean much. But take into account their seasons after being drafted.

Both enter their 18 YO season in the OHL, both playing with the Plymouth Whalers.

Noesen posts 38 goals, 44 assists, 82 points in 63 games played
Rackell posts 28 goals, 34 assists, 62 points in 60 games played

Noesen posts 7 goals, 8 assists, 15 points in 7 playoff games
Rackell posts 2 goals, 10 assists, 12 points in 13 playoff games

Noesen is also the much more physical, bull in a china shop type player with better intangibles.

Yeah I agree. I like Noesen more than Stone & Prince for that matter. But Pronman is more a Corsi guy that a goals/assists guy.

And I forgot to mention in my other post - Pronman doesn't rank goalies as they are too hard too predict. So lets not freak out people.

Yeah...that's a pretty odd list. No offense to Prince, who'll probably be pretty good - I think Noesen's a much better prospect.

Very strange rankings. As always, don't put any stock in them.

No Noesen? I can understand for Puempel because of his lack of games played last year but Noesen has been one of the best players in the CHL

And lol at Sebastian Collberg at 40th but Silfverberg at 51th

I'm also sure that Stone is a better prospect than many of the 69 guys ahead of him

That's just for the Sens... an argument could be made for many other teams. This list is pretty random

Our Sens will always be underrated it seems. Oh well, we can still appreciate watching guys like Karlsson raise trophies.

He gives honourable mentions to JT Miller but not Noesen.

Odd.

Interesting to see Derek Forbort ranked lowly. The Sens originally wanted to draft him and eventually traded the pick for Rundblad after Forbort and Schwartz went ahead

So maybe it's not a Senator prospect bias but rather rankers don't see talent the way our scouts/GM do

Everyone seems to be ranking Silfverberg just a tad lower than we would expect. I guess everyone sees something we dont (due to homer vision) or they are dastardly wrong.

Maybe because he's older than most other prospects? Not sure.
