Fotinos seems to be having a tough start this year. Hope he improves by the beginning of the season as we all know he is a good goalie and capable of taking the starting job.
I thought Tanner would be in the AHL as well (pending recovery from his injury)...but being in Edmonton now, I've just read the Oilers assigned most of their team to OKC - RNH, Eberle, Paajarvi, Schultz etc. - yesterday. That has to mean guys who would have otherwise made the AHL and staying down. If other teams follow suit, I wonder what that sort of behaviour means for guys like Pearson...or for that matter Telegin?

Barring any late change in the CHL-NHL agreements, the Colts should now have Mark for the full season!
The NHL/CHL now have a temporary agreement in place which allows NHL teams to recall CHL players for NHL camps (or beyond that term should they make the NHL team) if/when the lockout is resolved this season.
Quote:
Normally, a player who is sent back to his junior club must stay there the rest of the season. But the NHL reportedly reached agreement with the Canadian Hockey League, which oversees the three major junior leagues, to allow players to go to the NHL when the lockout ends.
In theory this means that should the lockout end at some point during Oct or Nov - then the Jets are able to recall Scheifele from Barrie for the Jets training camp. If it happened in Dec however one can probably assume the Jets would leave him in Barrie so he is available to the Canadian WJC team as well.
for Mark Scheifele to never be the captain of the barrie colts is terrible
We all know DH is a few eggs short of a dozen. Truthfully I'm a little more surprised that Ekblad didn't get an A. A bit crazy that Beyers is getting one in his place. Usually you want the players who consistently lead by putting forth their best effort, no?
This is a shame. Can't wait for DH to be named an assistant coach for the Jets.
You'll be waiting a long time then!
The Jets signed Perry Pearn in the offseason as an assistant coach to work alongside the other assistant coaches Charlie Huddy and Pascal Vincent. No room in Winnipeg for Ducky at present.

Alot of what is said and the power base in the dressing room are critical also. Only the coaches and players know and understand that dynamic.
First game of the season tonight. Let's start the season with a win. A player tweeted that over 13000 will be at Scotia Bank Place tonight. Not bad for a OHL game.
With game #1 tonight, and still no word of where Sutch has been traded to, Buonomo still around after O'Connor named captain what is the plans with the OA's on this team? Are we holding onto them until something better is offered?
Also when does the colts website actually update the roster? They staill have Tanner Pearson's name on it, however he has been sent to the Monarch's?

That's great, its nice to see a big crowd at a junior game.

That's true. I can only comment on what I've seen on the ice. It seems pretty unlikely that those who work the hardest and support their teamates the most on the ice don't do the work and are problematic off the ice.

Looks like the Colts had a nice start tonight with the victory. There's always a good turnout in Ottawa...and the rink has NHL capacity.
