I'm watching AQ Bars and Traktor.

Edit: I lied. I turned on Dynamo Moscow and Dynamo Minsk.

No way. I grew up on European hockey and I can hardly enjoy it anymore on TV. Once I got used to the NHL pace the European game feels like you're watching an entire game in slow-motion.

If Malkin or, heaven forbid, Crosby get injured, I'm giving up sports and joining a cult.

NHL all-star team would look different on the big ice as well. The longer you run the slower your speed.

Next game is Saturday, 9:30am EST. And Malkin looked a little rusty, but as the game progressed, he was looking more and more like himself. Maurice changed up the lines a bit, Kulemin will be there soon and it sounded like from the after game interview he was going to try to pair them up.

Where was the enforcer... that guy throwing the low hip-check deserves to be Oglethorped. I thought the KHL instituted a "don't touch Malkin or he will not grace us with his presence" rule. I'm not happy about this arrangement.

So is Magnitogorsk the official KHL Bandwagon team of Pittsburgh Penguins fans then?

Anyone who is under the impression that the NHL players are taking a roster spot away from a KHL player should read this article: KHL’s guidelines for signing locked-out NHL players

Essentially, the KHL amended their rules to allow for the signing of locked-out NHL players. They don't count against the roster limit or the cap ... so the same 25 guys that were signed with the team still are, they're still getting paid. The only thing that potentially changes is their ice time.

As far as wanting to show up a NHL superstar ... if it's a personal/skill challenge or point of pride kind of thing, I doubt that the reason the superstar is there makes any difference.

My point wasn't just about the KHL, but all hockey leagues (other than the NHL) in general. If you don't think there is a high amount of animosity towards NHL players joining other leagues during a lockout, watch the first few minutes of this video:
