I can tell you right now that is bogus, that's simply an excuse to wear them inside out. The jerseys would be supplied by the team, not the NHLPA.
I think you misunderstood. The NHLPA will be issuing NHLPA logo jersey's for their players to practice in during the lockout. The Canucks are wearing their current practice jerseys inside out until the NHLPA ones arrive.
It is likely inside out or not at all. It's a labour dispute and part of that is teams taking back jerseys, not letting them use team equipment etc etc etc. The Oilers took the jerseys from their practicing players as they were on the ice one day. It seems the players and canucks have taken a different approach.
But to me, the logo and name of the team does not represent "Aquillini" (sp?) It represents the fans, the city, the players, and somewhere on that list the owners as well.
Try making and selling unlicensed merchandise, then when you get a cease and desist order just let Canucks Sports & Entertainment know that the team's name and logo belong to the fans and the city - see how long it takes them to stop laughing.

No kidding. It really does amaze me as to how people see the team as more than what it is.
I understand what the OP is trying to say, honestly don't understand why everyone is being so critical of him.
Because it's ****ing stupid, and deserves to be mocked.
The players have come to a city that, for many of them, isn't their home to practice together for their job that their employer has locked them out of. People are ****ing complaining because they don't want to wear that employer's logo and be billboards for them? Because it makes them sad? Are they five years old? Are you a fan of The Vancouver Canucks the company, or the team?
If they didn't give a ****, they'd be sitting at home in Bonanza, Alberta or whatever hanging out with their friends and families.
OMG they all like wherever the NHLPA head office is more than Vancouver!!!! Why didn't they wear those sweaters I sent them with my face on them?? ARG ARG ARG

This sums it up perfectly. Why does anyone care what the players wear when they aren't being paid?

Meh, it's not the best way to make a protest. I don't care enough to have an opinion about it one way or another.
I don't see a problem with it. The Canucks organization ownership group has locked the players out. The Canucks organization is in hiatus and the players are not practicing as Vancouver Canucks but rather a group of professional hockey players. If the ownership group doesn't want them to play hockey as Canucks right now I see no point in them wearing the logo. It might be wiser to just don generic jerseys with no logos whatsoever but whatever.
I love it when people say "no disrespect" or "no offense" and then proceed to make a disrespectful or offensive post. As if saying that before hand negates everything said after.
There's absolutely no need for this big of an overreaction. It's just an opinion.
"Uhh... that's his opinion, it might stink but it's his opinion..."
It seems "We Are All Canucks" only applies when "We Are Getting Paid By The Canucks". I support the players in their efforts but I really dislike this. It would have been nice to see some of them around town for "Raise a Reader" Day too.... that personally is what I didn't like. Whats next visits to Canuck Place?
Besides isn't it about whats on the front of the jersey & not the back?

The OP has a point. They could have worn anything - they chose this - it absolutely is a statement - and a statement they *knew* was going to be picked up on by the media. Nothing accidental about it.
Now, whether it's worth having a coronary over or not, is for folks to decide for themselves.
