Malkin gets leveled

In his first game Malkin gets hit beautifully by Zubarev.

Was expecting a highlight reel open ice hit. A hip check is not getting leveled.

Pretty nice hip check, though not the kind of hit I'd use "leveled" to describe. edit - apparently a few other people agree, hah.

Not sure. All I know is that he plays 2nd line center. Altough he played over 22 minutes.

Edit: Apparently he got one secondary assist. 22.Enver Lisin (12.Justin Hodgman, 71.Evgeny Malkin). Metallurg Mg. Even Strength. That could be his line.

Nice hit, but thats not really how I would define getting "leveled". Getting leveled is more of a, running into a brick wall in open ice and falling flat on your ass type of hit.

Where was the goon squad though? If that were the NHL's superior product play would have been stopped so the guy who just laid a clean hit could get mugged. That is how real hockey is played.

Same, but that was a nice hip regardless.Really launched himself at Malkin. Risky, but it looked good.

Alas, KHL doesn't understand a beauty of goon squads, and doesn't appreciate them a lot. So it's better to stay away from them.

They're probably happy he got hit. Doubt guys going over are very popular among teammates over there right now.

Surprised they didn't put Kulemin on his line. Or has he not arrived yet?

Yeah, who needs the world's best player.
BTW, Gonchar was predictably terrible.

There is a fine line between a hip check and clipping.
To me, this was a shot at the knees and nothing higher.
Far from being leveled and close to being a penalty.
