a) Are the menus as laggy as I've read? Some people were saying upwards of 30s to change teams while trying to do a trade, etc.
I'm on PS3 rather than 360, but on my crappy internet the menus can easily take 5-10 seconds to load back to the central menu. I imagine a "up to 30 seconds" claim would be a bit of exaggeration, but I know that I didn't bother to update my trade block the other day because I couldn't be bothered to wait for the menus. Basically, the issue is that every time you exit an area (say, trade block or the strategies page) it does a full check with the server for anything that has happened since the last time you were on the central menu. When it's talking to the server, it doesn't allow you to do anything until it's done.
Yup. Precisely. I'll take care of things on the Xbox as soon as I can. The last few days have been unexpectedly hectic for me.
As far as new posters/lurkers go, I personally don't really mind if they join the league. We've got 29 teams to fill. But if you guys would rather put a minimum post count on it (say, 50), I'm open to that.

No, I was looking at NYR, which was taken by a 1 post newb. Sorry if I left anyone with that implication... I should've clarified.
You've posted here, I recognize your name, that was an account created specifically to play in our league.
If you want it that bad then take it. I don't understand why people are getting upset over this. Like I said before I just wanted to try out this new game mode. I didn't think it was a big deal.
The whole point of the league isn't to fill up as many spots as we can, it's to form a league with people in it that are regular contributors on this specific board that we know and interact with regularly.

Understandable, I can just wait for another league to possibly open up down the road.

Oh no I wasn't referring to you at all I was just speaking in general. You definitely seem like you're going to be a contributor to the wild boards and that's perfect for the league.

That was my impression anyway, hence the reaction when we got moved to the main board. If we wanted to be there, and fill up like crazy, I have to assume the thread would've been created there in the first place.
No direct offense intended, to anyone in particular, but if I wanted to play with a bunch of randoms, I'd play with a bunch of randoms...

I would appreciate playing online against other people who I have contact with outside of the game (a la HF) but since I am currently transitioning from NHL 10 as of last night, I may not be the best competition for a week or two.

No one is a pro with 13 yet, don't worry.
2 games in a row in my be a gm where they scored either tying or winning goals with sub-10 seconds to go.
Factually impossible to win a defensive zone faceoff when they've got a chance to win it... Literally, 2 dozen games or so, never once one a faceoff in my zone if there's less than 15 seconds on the clock, that goes for period ends, too. Not just game winners.....
They need to tone down the rubber band AI for me to really get any enjoyment out of this. I don't expect to win every game, I'm fine with losing. But I want to lose because I was outplayed, or because I suck, not because some way-too-obviously weighted RNG decides that I'm going to lose.
My first 3 games of Be A GM I lost 1-0 in each....started off 0-2-1. I believe once I get used to the slower reactions and not being able to "blow up" guys hitting like I could on 10 I will get it down hopefully.
I play on Pro with game speed 90% maxed and everything else stock and I will be around .500. What levels does everyone else play when playing CPU?
