Yeah...no.

The rule they are going by is players cannot be signed to AHL contracts unless they were either on last season's AHL Clear Day list or finished last season with the AHL club. Sheppard did neither, so he cannot be signed to an AHL contract after the lockout started. The only way he could have played in the AHL was to sign an NHL contract (any kind) and then cleared waivers to be assigned.

Said he didn't have any preliminary plans for playing in Europe, though I'm sure his agent had already reached out to teams over there. Also, his response to how long he thought the lockout might last was a bit puzzling. He has no idea what is going on in the negotiations because he wasn't there? Okay.

Also some interesting comments about the Sharks losing money and reporting losses at the BOG meetings.

Watched Demers play today for karpat Finland , played really well had an assist , played PP PK and regular shift seemed like he was on the ice whole game LOL........its really intense over there allot of
