Don't think we'll seeing many of those returning. Looked and the majority are retired or playing elsewhere.

I'm think of going to a Clan game soon but I only have a IFK shirt and it would feel weird not very wearing a ice hockey shirt to an ice hockey, just like I find it weird not wearing a football top to a football game

So would that be a problem or do they not care?

Just wear it man, there are always lots of different NHL tops at any game you go to, I don't see why a Euro one would be a problem

Gotta love this shout-out to NIHL and SNL games.

Interesting vid on Fyde Flyers site on the reconstruction of a building into a rink that seats 350. Ice size only 118 x 75 but hey it's ice. Building opened in 2011 and Flyers are into their 2nd season in North 2 with a junior program after no rink since the mid 90's

It's good that teams do this, these teams need all the help they can get. Their goal is purely to break-even and pay their bills for the year. My coach said when the Bison were in the EIHL we had much better crowds because people didn't want to travel away to Belfast or Scotland so they would come to watch us, but now in the EPL they are only down the road in Bracknell, Swindon, Guildford or Slough so we get less people coming to our games. This combined with the astronomical ice time prices Planet ice charge, we (the players) have to pay more money for the club to break-even.

Are you sure the ice size is 118 x 75? The rink on the Isle of Wight is supposedly 165 x 80 and it is minuscule, there is no way senior league hockey should be played on it.

I always wear different European jerseys to Coventry Blaze games.. It really would not be a problem at all.

Guess I'm not the only guy that misses the Bison in the EIHL. I look forward to a future when hockey is organized enough to have a legit top league, not this Elite/EPL/etc business, would love Phoenix to back in the Elite too but alas.

3 of 4 points for a short benched Blaze team this weekend, Danton denied, Olson still without a loss fighting and #silentassassin Leeb being a savior again.

Panthers with their first full house of the season on Saturday.

Despite losing, it was an awesome game to watch, a couple of odd calls from the refs, which may just be league differences.

is it a penalty for jerseys not being tied down here? If so Clarke should have had one both times he tried fighting.

And really weak calls on dives from steeler players, one which led to the GWG.

I believe it's a game misconduct, same as in the NHL

Any statements on suspensions or fines in the Romford/Slough game.
Players not going to the bench/coming off the bench, multiple fighs same stoppage.
Wouldn't wanna be the guy who turtled he'll be marked for a few games.
Wish the vid had showed the hit that set this off.
But the refs shoulda sent the players not envolved to their benches and lost control pretty quickly.
Probably inexperienced refs learning their craft as 99 says NIHL2 is a pay to play league.
But I have noticed watching a few vids of Brit hockey that the refs do not send players to the bench during fights and let them mill around.

It was a "Raiders cup" game, so didn't count towards league standings

Bees get a very deserved 4 point weekend

Seriously foreseeing Bendik being poached by a big EPL/lower Elite team next season, he's a hell of a player.

Seemed like Sarich, DeCaro and the pairing of Stephenson and Jorgenson consipred to give Belfast a point yesterday.
At 4-1 the Steelers were coasting and Belfast looked shockingly average, then Sarich had an awful giveaway leading to an easy Belfast goal. That changed the momentuem and combined with some very poor D and weak goaltending and the game was level...

A couple of nice penalty shots though and the points were ours.

4 point weekend and wins over Nottingham and Belfast, I'm surprised, but very happy.
