Not much comparatively speaking, 20k atm. But about 10k tied up in auctions. A lot of 83-85 people worth between 700-2000 pucks.
E: I buy and resell under market value. Such as the Gagne before (500 and 12000 sold, whereas most are 15000-20000 and another was Clowe for 1200 and listed him for 1600, we'll see where he sells at even though most go for 2500+).

You can reduce the amount of time by putting a max BIN price. 10k in this case. Can remove a few with the min as well if you want. Still take a while I suppose though because of the 10k. Do it to 3k or something.

Didn't think about that, will have to use that next time. Thanks.
When you get those "+500 puck bonus" cards in packs, how do you access them? I can see it under my consumables after I win an auction when choosing where to put the item I won by scrolling between consumables, roster, etc, but I don't know where to get to it. It's not in my collection when I go there. Help? Sorry if the wording is confusing.
Someone please help me out. I just bought a Doughty for 20K on PS3. What should I put him up for? Am I going to lose money? I only had 21000 pucks so I'm a little scared right now, lol.
Anyone have an idea of the PS3 value of Ryan Murphy? I know prospects aren't as sought after as last year, however I know some people use them in tournies etc. I have yet to see one on the market since I pulled him out of a mega pack last night with Vokoun and Grabner.
Accepting PS3 trades for Murphy if anyone here is interested.
So guys how do I build a good team without spending real money? I've been playing with my starter pack and been able to win games I shouldn't but I can't seem to get any better players with the pucks I earned. And I don't get that many picks either. What are some tips to make a good team?

I just don't have the pucks to buy desirable players and flip them for a profit.

Well, I have been playing for three days now and I have yet to open a single pack. I now have 18,000 Pucks.
I know it's nothing astonishing, but I enjoy building a team without having to spend any real dollars on the game.
First and foremost...do not buy packs with pucks. It's just not a good idea (especially if your low on pucks as is).
Secondly, you have to be patient on the market. Start with the low end players like Brandon MacMillan, Andrej Sekera, and Andrew MacDonald. All three can easily re sell for 900-1000 pucks each time. I cant even count the number of times I have seen these players go in the 300-500 puck range. Other players to look for would be young guys like Luke Adam, Stefan Elliott, Brendan Smith and Philip Larsen. Occasionally they slip through the seams and go for around 50-150 pucks. They can instantly be resold from anywhere between 300-750 pucks depending on the amount of effort put into selling them.
Once you start making pucks, dont be afraid to spend them on good deals. The more you spend the more you will make. Before listing any cards make sure you double check the market for what these players are consistently getting sold for as well.
It is a struggle to earn that first 5,000 but once you do you can then start taking those risks that earn you larger payoffs. Simply familiarize yourself with the primary players on the market and you will find yourself making a decent amount of pucks each day.
From my experience it is almost impossible to maintain a strong team without either buying packs with real money, or dedicating some time to finding good deals on the market. You just cant earn enough from tournaments and online play.
Well put, HighLife. I agree fully. I had been playing the market with the pucks I got from NHL12 and built up a decent team. I recently got greedy on a bid.. it was worth it but I ran out of pucks and needed some contracts. SO I just bought my first pack with real money, $6.99 Mega Pack (got the game for 45$ shipped so I will call it even on that deal, lol) and I was surprisingly happy. From reading about how packs have been so far I was scared - especially with how consumables are different than last year.
I was happy to pull a Vokoun, Grabner, R. Murphy, RW-C, and a couple team change cards, along with a 2k puck bonus (auto-included in mega packs maybe?). Obviously numerous jersey cards, contracts, training cards, etc. Overall, well worth it for me, I feel it was a pretty lucky pack. So now I will call it even and keep playing the market for pucks and buying 600 puck packs for contracts if I need to.
The iOS app has been incredibly handy for me playing the market. If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, pick it up!!
I pre-ordered NHL 13 from Gamestop online? Am I supposed to get some free packs or did I need to do something else?
Not sure how that works. Since you pre-ordered you're supposed to get a code that will you give you the gold packs each week. Maybe by email? If not call/email them.
Just snagged a James Reimer for 1100 pucks. Should be able to sell him for 2500 or so. I also got a Justin Faulk for 350. I'll probably keep him and stick him with Pitkanen on my second D pair.
I saw a few good cards on auction last night. I won a few bidding wars that I knew I could make some profit out of. Here's the big name ones.
R. Miller(91): He was on a starting bid of 50 and I eventually got him for 49k. I looked for other auctions for him and only found one which was at a starting bid of around 55k. I think I could sell him for more than that, maybe 70-80k since he is pretty rare and is the highest rated goalie.
E. Karlsson: He was on a starting bid of 20k. I eventually won the bidding war at around 38k. I hoping I could sell him for 45k.
Z. Parise: This was probably my biggest steal last night. Starting bid of 50 and I won him at 49k. The only one other auction had him at 80k I think. I'm thinking about keeping him since he is a favorite player of mine. Been waiting for a cheap auction for awhile. Though I could probably make a 30k profit.
I also saw R. Nash for 20k. I really wanted Nash so I could use him as a wing for Thornton. But for some reason my bid didn't go through and someone got him for 22k. Other auctions had him at 40k.
