This draft is mega deep, I mean I didn't even include Rankin, de la Rose, Baptiste, Klimchuk, Yakimov, Mantha, Forsberg, Buchnevich, B. Williams, Harper, Morin, Shea, Ekman-Larsson, Needham, G. Chase, and Heatherington.

Plus all those Landeskog prospects, who were basically flying under the radar until Christmas time and get hyped as top 10 picks.

If anyone is curious, here is my preseason Top 30.

Here is also RS top 12 from the WHL for the 2013 draft.

Would be awesome if we got a top 5 pick but highly doubtful. Seth Jones would be great but I won't hold my breath. I just hope that the pick is spent on a dman. We need higher end talent in that area and hope we target wingers in the later rounds.

But as always go with the BPA strategy.

Unfortunately, this phrase is uttered pretty much every draft cycle. Its gotten to the point where it has no meaning to me. Last year was supposed to be loaded, turned out pretty weak now this year etc.

I'll be satisfied with pretty much any 1st rd pick, seeing as how we didn't have ours last year. Drafts are always the same if you don't have a top pick you're not going to get one of those "sure fire" players like RNH or Landeskog. I'd say every draft outside anything outside the top 5 becomes a real crap shoot just because some players pan and some other who were thought the be stars fizzle.

Yes a lot of people use that term and a lot can change between now and next June, but on paper this drafting is looking very good. I've been hyping it since 2011. And to prove myself that I am not one of "those" people I am not liking the 2014 draft if we were talking about it today, but again a lot can change. While 2015 is looking pretty decent as well.

What happened in 2012 that can happen to a lot of drafts is a lot of big named players with hype during the offseason struggled throughout the season, which made the draft seem weak or average. I still think 2012 is a ok draft, but 2013 is definitely a draft to keep our 1st.

Voted for a 'goal scoring winger', but it was tough between that or a 'two-way defensemen'.

It really depends on who is on the board when we pick.

Yo SEPH where's the BPA option? Also who are the 4 people that voted for defensive dman?

I would laugh my ass off, if the avs drafted Domi or Shinkaruk.

BPA....I'm not even going to vote because it should have been an option....and it would overwhelmingly win.

If only it went that way given a full season lockout.

This draft is stacked at center...my guess is we take some more North American centers.

Best player availbe. Not a certain position. When the player is ready to go within 2-4 years our team could look very diffrentely. And passing up on a better player just cause our team needed a puck moving d-man today would be wrong. Unless it's a top 3 pick and the player is ready to go right now.

That is why I didn't add it. The poll is just the type of player you want the Avs to draft, not what you expect the Avs to draft.

Seph, where do you find the time, dude? Aren't you uber-overwhelmed & busy?

P.S. I vote under-sized center. BPA is supposed to give you cancer.

Whaaaaaaa? I don't think you were here long enough, but I always create the draft thread even if I don't have time. I did minimize some of my hours of work, so I do have some free time now.
