Sorry for a slight derail, but wanted to note that I saw that there's a possibility Chris Thorburn (probably my favorite player) may play with Gwinnett's (Atlanta) ECHL club. That would be amazing!! Come home Thorby!

Not so good I guess, seems like the whole team of his is playing worse than they could - and by reading the posts of Kärpät-fans from the finnish forums, seems like the problem stands behind the bench. The game plan aint as good as it should be.

So he is been playing mainly in 2nd line (one game in 1st), got 0+1 in 4 games with TOI averaged for about 17min 30sec. Atleast he has shot 16 times already, so its not about lack of effort. Tho I havent seen any of their games yet, but i could guess that the line he is mostly playing aint a good fit for him either... On the other wing there is a pretty similiar player who tends to do a lot of work and get to the dirty areas, so im not really sure what his role in there is at this moment. Seems like a bit weird 2nd line to me. But Kärpät's material is pretty good, so I believe when they get their game going on Salomäki will get his game to better shape than this. Some more flashy offensive player to the other wing would help a lot - like Jussi Jokinen... We'll see if he gets to play with him if their game wont get any better than this (4 games, 1 win)

Thanks for the information. Really appreciate it. If the entire team is off to a sluggish start then I don't think there's much cause for concern right now. Very early in the season aswell, I was just curious to see hear how he was being used. Nice to see he's getting some proper icetime.

Couple of things:

1: the Preds if they play will be a forward short, who's the one Admiral who's the favorite To be the 23rd player?

2: can we get a Predmirals avatar?

3: when's training camp?

I'd imagine Chris Mueller will continue to be first callup. I think Mike Latta will make his debut this year as well(provided there is one.) and could end up sticking, this year's Gabby Bourque.

Mueller is the logical choice. If there's ever an injury, he'd most definitely be the safe decision. Possibly Beck aswell. If Poile wants to walk on the wild side, which he never does , Latta or maybe even Watson could be given a shot if they play well enough.

Why isn't Chris Mueller on the training camp roster for Milwaukee.

Because he is on an NHL contract and the team didn't send him to Milwaukee via waivers prior to the lockout. Just as Jon Blum did, Mueller is expected to sign an AHL contract to play with Milwaukee during the lockout.

Offensive lines seem out of wack, but it's just a practice session. Beck playing center? Not to mention there were only 9 forwards dressed according to that post.

Correct. Three players did just that a few days ago.

Found a blog with some more lines from practice today:

Blog: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/172207751.html
(posted on the admirals twitter account)

"Gabriel Bourque, Mueller, Juuso Puustinen, Blum and Victor Bartley were the first line at practice. The No. 2 line consisted of Daniel Bang, Van Guilder, Austin Watson, Mattias Elkholm and Mike Moore."

Quote:
With the NHL in lockout mode, Nashville Predators’ assistant general manager Paul Fenton was able to take in the Admirals’ first practice of the season on Monday afternoon.

He liked what he saw at the MSOE Kern Center.

“I really liked the intensity from the minute it started,” Fenton said. “Our guys got the message at our team meeting yesterday that this was about first impressions, showing intensity every day. This first practice has been nothing but that.”

New coach Dean Evason said the team had a great work ethic. He was also pleased with how his Admirals learned from a video session earlier in the day and then carried that over to the rink.

“All in all, it was very positive,” Evason said.

Evason will be the fourth coach in three years, however, for Chris Mueller, Mark Van Guilder, Jeremy Smith and Jon Blum (five, if you include the defenseman’s stint in Nashville last year). They played for Lane Lambert in 2010-’11, and then Kirk Muller and Ian Herbers last season.

After further investigation

Bourque-Mueller-Puustenen
Bang-Van Guilder-Watson
Maclellan-Beck-Latta
Henderson-Lajunen-Cehlin

Loose forwards

ABM, Ryan, Reid, Shalla

Bartley-Blum
Ekholm-Moore
Valentine-Jarvinen
Bitetto-Foss
Aronson-COR

Note: I could see Foss, Aronson, COR go to Cincy. Also all the loose forwards, which could be surprising for Shalla. What about Ellis? He's on an ELC. Is he in camp?

Lindback is still on the list of prospects that scroll across the top even after being traded to Tampa.

Admirals kill a 5 on 3 powerplay and then get a goal from beyond the goalline. Lajunen banks it off Hutton, Puustinen and Jarvinen with the assists.
