Theodore to Toronto

Let's assume that he will waive to go to Toronto. What is the value of Theodore?

I guess you assume the lockout wont last 1 years and Theodore wont become UFA without playing a single game with Toronto.

Was it Theodore to ____? Sorry mods if it was, legit didn't see. The thread of FLD-VAN-TOR was more because of Kulikov+ for Luongo which is absurd.

I think that is where the idea came from. It is an interesting idea actually for Theodore to Toronto if take away the logistics behind the trade. He would be a good stop-gap for them actually IMO. I think Toronto doesn't need a long-term goalie right now. They need to give Reimer/Scrivens some time. Hell look at Vancouver, they were patient with Schneider's growth and that worked out for them. Scrivens might end up being the next Schneider. Being a Tampa fan I have the same hopes for Lindback/Tokarski/Helenius/Janus.

The Panthers will need a starting goalie before they can deal Theo as Markstrom cannot be relied upon to jump in and keep it steady in between the pipes. Which means we will have to revisit the scenario where another goalie enters the picture, any guesses who?

And round and round we go.

as a longtime Leaf fan, I have NO interest in Theodore OR Luongo. I'm very comfortable with Reimer and Scrivens. Worst case scenario: Leafs get another top 5 pick in an even stronger draft!
In the new salary cap world, having two goalies with LOW cap hits will be very valuable.
For the Canucks to dump Luongo's contract on someone, they will need to add at least a
2nd round pick or a decent prospect like Schroeder PLUS take on a contract like Komisarek or Connolly.

Luongo should not be bring up in this thread. Just assume that Panthers have a deal worked out, and leave it at that. Don't bring up the value of it, just leave it at that. I just want Theo because he provides good goaltending and a vet experience for Riemer. Theo only has a 1.5 cap hit. Riemer has a bigger cap hit than that.

Reimer/Scrivens is worse than the tandem you had last year. And it was BAD last year for you guys.

I dont see why we would deal him. He is cheap and his price is not very high, and it would cost to acquire someone to take his spot (since the want another year for Markström in the A).

I think the poster is asking for the value assuming you have already found an upgrade.

Do you even watch other teams play?

Or are you usually this ignorant??

People seem to forget that Reimer, despite a season where he was playing with a serious concussion, still has a overall winning record of 34 -24 - 9 since joining the Leafs.

Scrivens was one of the hottest goaltenders in the AHL last year and was clutch during the playoffs.

But I guess it's all their faults that the Leafs finished where they did last season.

He still only got .903 save % and 3.13 GAA in the NHL.
