Yup. I did the Gilbert+Larsson for #5 overall and 2014 pick. It was too good to pass up since they load up the 2013 draft. I bumped up his potential and he still barely gained anything throughout the year.
In the Connected GM mode I'm playing with my wife, she traded Kuemper + Foster + pick (2014 3rd rounder I think) for Ryan Murray + throw-in goalie to keep Columbus legal. Then she traded me Dumba for Voynov (pretty sure she came out ahead there, but she was dead set that she wanted Voynov and I'd like to keep her interested in the game).
I don't blame you, Larsson is crap in NHL 13. Wouldn't be so bad if he had a 3 or 3 1/2 star potential.
I moved him up to 3.5, but he barely progressed in the first year, and if I was going to get a top 10 pick for him, which Anaheim is almost guaranteed to get, I'm gonna go for it.
One kinda bad thing happened. I signed Backstrom after the season ended. Had no intention of keeping him since he is going downhill and still wanted 6.8M for 2 seasons. I traded him to Columbus for a 1st and a 3rd. From this last draft and now, their defense is Murray, Johnson, Reinhart, and they signed 2 other D in the low 80's. They look pretty formidable since Murray starts at 80 and then has 4.5 stars on top of that. Pretty sure that first round pick isn't going too far.
Boy I need a lot of improvement playing defense in this game. I was able to find every Wild prospect except Jonas Brodin in the system. Do you guys know where he is or do I need to create him? Otherwise couldn't be happier with the game and the gameplay.
There are more Wild prospects missing, but I suppose most people just discount the college players automatically. I created Mario Lucia and Erik Haula, and a couple of 1st round college guys from the last draft for other teams before I got bored and just started the league.
I like how this game plays, which is why I find it so disappointing how each mode has basically some critical flaw that robs it of any realism, and a lot of fun.
Holy **** Madden feels like what NHL has been for the last few years before the new skating engine. How is it that I have a 96 overall QB, two wide receivers that are at 93 and 91, respectively, and the #3 ranked offense in the league, going against the #29 ranked defense, two cornerbacks with 81 and 75 overall each, and I can't get a ****ing pass off because the cornerbacks SOMEHOW stay with my receivers step-for-step?
This makes absolutely NO sense. I literally find the perfect, absolutely PERFECT play to go through their zone defense and have two of my receivers absolutely wide open with only a single safety between them. My guys have a good 15-20 yards between them downfield, the safety is directly in the middle and a good 5-10 yards behind. Yet SOMEHOW they come out of nowhere to swat the ball away at the last second and my guys stand there expecting the ball to come to them and they don't have to move at all. This game. Ugh it pisses me off so badly sometimes.
That and the lack of a ****ing autosave, a feature in video games from over 10 years ago, in a game that tends to freeze EVERY TWO HOURS, makes me rage so hard.

Tomorrow I'm going to Target with my brother to buy him a new nerf gun. I'm also going to buy any game that looks appealing. I need something not Madden to tide me until Halo 4. Then I won't play another game for 6 months. And I'm perfectly fine with that.
I bought Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition last year and tried to play it. It was just not fun. I did not like it much at all. I'll probably try it out at some point again, but ehh.
It's kinda wierd, but I am a huuuuuuuge Fallout fan. Fallout 3? One of my favorite games of this generation. Fallout New Vegas? Awesome game that I need to finish, now that I think about it. ****. That was such a fun game.
And I stopped by Target and bought Batman: Arkham City. I loved the first one when I rented it, thought I can try out the sequel. I'll probably try it out later today.
Oblivion was awful. I'm thinking about getting Skyrim for PC (I already have it for PS3) if that Morrowind team ever gets anywhere near a full mod release.
I bought Oblivion and played it for a couple hours. I put it down for about a year. Started playing it again and realized it was my favorite game. The start is sooooooooo boring, but it just takes off from there. Oblivion was game of the year and Skyrim was heads above it. The advancements the last decade are nothing short of amazing.

I just could not figure out where to go at all when I started.
Here is what I remember about playing the game:
I came out of the sewers and went exploring. I found some camp full of people, got in a big fight, and killed all of them. That's kinda cool. Found myself in some big city and tried to buy/sell some stuff. Then I was a gladiator for a little bit.
Then I went exploring again and found some small town being attacked by demons from some portal. I got killed and lost a lot of time. I went exploring again and found some horse somewhere and rode around on that for a while and found some small village. I think I rescued someone from a vampire in a cave underneath a waterfall or something.
That's all I remember. None of that was part of the main story, IIRC. I just had no idea what was going on and quit.
You can open up the journal and highlight it on the map. Then there is an arrow saying where to go on the main playing screen. The gladiator quests were awesome.
Just downloaded the new roster update and Jonas brodin is still no where to be found.... Did they just delete him or what? He was in the game last year. ********** ridiculous..
I didn't want to scour this thread so I'm not sure if it's already been discussed, but what's up with not being able to wear last year's Winter Classic jerseys except in Winter Classic mode? I was looking forward to sporting NY's because I love their jersey from the WC.
Even got every achievement for it actually. Skyrim was better though.
