I'm glad she didn't sell out in Hunger Games. Wonderful performance there, but I'm not too sure about the next one; didn't like the book.

Thank you for suggesting The Poker House.
I will have to watch it.
The subject matter is quite heavy, so you have been warned.

Burning Plains is based on a book of the same name.
According to IMDB, it is going to be called Serena now.
Coincidentally, it stars her and Bradley Cooper again.
It is a period piece, and she is going to play a villain-like character.
I think it is Oscar bait, but I am not sure she can pull it off.
She has to play an older character, and she has never played a villain before.
We will have to see, though I am rooting for her.
She's playing an older character in Silver Linings Playbook, but Serena seems to have a much more serious tone to it. Plus, it's a period piece, so it's going to much harder in that aspect.

It was very meh.
I liked the Governator's version a lot better.
There are not enough intrigue in this one.

Thanks for the heads up.
I wikied it...
It was pretty disturbing.
Apparently it was a true story too...

Why do the people who make male fragrance advertisements think that an extreme close up of a seemingly topless guys crotch area as he slowly slides his hands into his pants is going to appeal to the majority of men?

I've had this exact same question & conversation before! Boggles the mind, you would think they would want a ladies hand to be sliding into the pants area. Also his own hand? shouldn't that be vaseline's marketing style?

Maybe they assume guys' wives/girlfriends will want them to get it? I don't know. Stupid advertising.

maybe because it appeals the female audience who in turn, would want their male partner to become like the male model in the advertisement, thus leading to the male partner buying the fragrance in order to please his female partner? yeahh?

That's probably it.
Most guys I know do not buy any fragrances.
Usually their girlfriend/ female companion/ moms got it for them.

I think the commercials work, or else we won't see so many different types of colognes on the market.

It's just like the female fragrance commercials, the opposite sex wants their partner to look and smell like the person on TV does. All the guys on the fragrance commercials have difinitive 6-packs and are extremely fit, while most girls have really nice curves and a good look. The advertisement is, "smell like this and you'll be perceived like that."

Too bad the only commercials that are good for that are the ones on at 2 a.m. for a full 30-minute time slot on cable TV with Jersey-Shore look-alikes as the stars.

But wait...call with in the next 60 minutes and you'll get the ABolisher for free!!!!

I didn't even realize before setting my PVR timer this morning just how many of my wife and I's favorite shows are coming back tonight (and this week). Holy smokes.

Good day/ week to be a TV fan.
Although I feel like I am going to be trolled by How I Met Your Mother Again this season.
I really hope this is the last season, because the show is pretty much done.

So I want to buy a new or used original Wii (yes, I am far behind when it comes to electronics...). Should I wait until the new one comes out though, do you think the old ones will drop in price a bit then or not really?

Anyone check out the new Muse album? It leaked yesterday...

I was very worried by the singles, but the new album in its entirety was awesome!

(Would throw up youtubes but they will probably be taken down by copyright holders asap)

I can't believe I missed the end of the Seahawks game.
I thought they were done after they turned the ball over with 1:45 left...
And they still did it.

You may want to wait until October.
That's the rumored available date for the Wii U...

That's a good time to re-access.
If the reviews are good, you may consider buying the new one.
They are not too expensive, compared to the other consoles.

Regardless, with a new system, the Wii is sure to drop, and all the stores are probably going to have a huge sale by Christmas to clear out the old stock.

I was like, yes!! they're going to show her!! and then..

I'm happy that the Seahawks won, but..that was just ridiculous. NFL needs real refs back.

One ref calls interception, one ref calls TD, still get the review wrong. What a joke.

Wow.

Good on Golden Tate to be aware and fight for the ball until the very last second...
Since this is an offensive league and usually they give the offense the benefit of the call...
But that was a brutal call.
That was a clear interception, and the defensive back had secured the ball.

They also missed the clear offensive pass interference, which would have negated everything and ended the game.

The announcer said it best,
Quote:
This is comical for me...really.
Reffing was brutal in this game.
Some of the pass interference calls shouldn't be made, and some I am sure are not penalties.
The NFL really need to get a contract done with the real refs.
