Well if most Canadians feel like Nathan Oystrick after two weeks in Prague ...

@Oystie74
Need some new follow suggestions...life on the road stuck in hotels where no one speaks English can get boring.. #twitterhelp

... I can see Giroux want to go somewhere else.

How can anyone moan about living in Prague?!

I would love to, cheap, nice people, one of the best places in the world for good looking girls, beautiful city, amazing countryside nearby... and in my experience most people in the Czech Republic speak pretty good english, especially in Prague, about 50% must be proficient... then it is just a matter of learning maybe 30-40 words and you can get by anyway.

Dekuji, Prominte, Dobry den, mluvite angliky... and most importantly... PIVO!

I think it was more about the travelling to places like Moscow, Siberia or Khabarovsk which I would hate even once a year - but every week? Oh man...

Everything you said about Prague counts for the normal person.
I doubt Giroux, or any professional athlete for that matter, has problem paying for stuff, meeting people and especially girls.

I don't blame Giroux for not wanting to play in the KHL. They have been some shady experiences over there.

Not really interested in Giroux playing during the lockout, aside from signing on for a few games if the end of the lockout is near.

Haha... yeh, Siberia and Khabarovsk would not be much fun (though tbh would quite like to go to Siberia one day...) the KHL travel would probably be the worst bit, it would probably be better to just play for a Extraliga team!

Anyone got the highlights of Voracek's latest game? I think I saw he had a goal and maybe an assist today?

can't find highlights any where yet but it's still a little early. Jake finished with a goal and no assists in a 4-2 loss to Barys Astana.

There are no official highlights(yet?), but you can see his goal from someone recording in the arena here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XyDCK4dbY0&t=1m30s

the KHL should do an MLB like split between and eastern and western league, and have bare minimum interleague play to make travel easier

and hell, khabarovsk shouldn't even have a team. That's worse than putting an NHL team in Anchorage.

: laugh:

Google translate on Lev Praha's site made me feel so bad just now.

Sekáčova střela skončila v lapačce lotyšského brankáře. was what it said

what it translated to : Chisel bullet ended lapačce Latvian goalie.

Felt bad for laughing

It’s been several years since best friends Chris Stewart and Wayne Simmonds have played on the same team. Both currently play with the St. Louis Blues and the Philadelphia Flyers respectively and are now about to take their game to Germany.

Both players have signed with Eispiraten Crimmitschau GmbH in Germany’s second division otherwise known as Bundesleague of Germany.

I'll believe it when I see it, but hopefully this is a good sign of things to come:

Quote:
Did you recover from the season that you called the worst of your career in a memorable interview to Sovetsky Sport?

"I would like to clarify — the most "mixed" season. I did have stretches where I had shutouts, when I was showing the stats like in Phoenix, when everyone praised me. Philadelphia made it to the second round of the Stanley Cup… You can find the positives. But my personal rating is that I am not happy with the season.

"I would like to thank fans who fairly criticized me. I got to know the Philadelphia media. This is an invaluable experience that will certainly help me. But I cannot say that I have 'sport rage' now and the next season I will show who the real Bryzgalov is! I set certain goals for myself and I will work to reach them. Otherwise you can do so much bad if you're filled with emotions."

Update : Added Bryz and Simmonds' team to the table

Voracek played today for Lev Praha. They won 4-0. Voracek had a goal on by Eric Christensen who scored a hat trick.

Will post high lights when they get put up

I expect Simmonds and Stewart to each get an 3-4PPG average, depending how serious they take is. They're way too good for this league where the top scorers are usually former mediocre 3rd line AHLers or good ECHLers.

Will be fun to watch them

More like Hawaii... they didn't put them there though. Khabarovsk managed to reach promotion to the first tier in 1996 and has been strong enough to stay there ever since. Their attendance is good and they don't seem to have economical issues. To expel them would be terribly unfair.

Jaromír Jágr had 11 points in ONE game in the german second tier during the first lockout. Hard to top.

In case someone is interested, Kladno versus Pardubice

http://www.tvtipsport.cz/elh/?matchId=-397607624

Some ex-Flyers in there, Jagr (just created a goal for Plekanec) and Brendl.

Well that just proves it, Jagr can help to make anyone score.

Plekanec ended up with a hat-trick, Jagr assisting on all three goals - what a creator of sharpshooters this Jagr guy is..
