I haven't seen it explicitly reported anywhere, but I get the impression that once the NHL season starts, Brunner would be ok playing a bit in GR first.

While I understand that point, Omark has torn it up in European leagues before. I would expect him to put up big numbers. Brunner will either make the transition to NA or he won't, until he is here we cannot tell. I won't write him off if Omark is exceptional over there, Omark has been exceptional in Europe before.

I was really hoping Brunner and Nyquist would play on a line in the AHL start developing chemistry while Brunner assimilates to the north american game. The next season they could make an incredible duo with dats or Z

2 goals for Brunner in his first game back with Zug. Played with Omark and Josh Holden. Omark only 0+1

Pavel wasn't in the lineup yet.

Can we start or sticky this thread as a player tracker thread for players playing overseas (like the prospect thread)? It'll be easier to keep up with relevant news.

Filppula trained with Jokerit today for the first time, looking forward to playing with his brother. Jokerit face SaiPa at home on Tuesday.

Here are some links for Datsyuk's game. At least the sopcast-link on the bottom is quite good quality. Wings prospect, defenceman Alexei Marchenko in the game as well, #55 in red.

Thanks for the reminder about Marchenko.

Just watched the 1st, Pavel looks comfortable on that big ice. Had a few puck touches but overall the play wasn't near him that much. Funny that's how ice hockey is.

There's no game threads at the KHL forum I'm surprised no one else is that interested to comment on the game. I won't clog up this thread about the game but may be sometime there could be a Datsyuk game thread.

managed to watch the 3rd period of datsyuk's game. he was actually taking faceoffs again, which means his wrist must be healthy.

also, i didn't see one player even attempt to lay a check on him. it's funny to see how much more respect he gets in a league with inferior players

OP, Not that this matters much but you made a typo on the team Datsyuk is playing for. It's CSKA, not ZSKA.

Valtteri was the center in training, Ilari has more exprecience playing on the wing even with Jokerit.

It has been ZSKA for me from my childhood (80's), and it will be it forever. It's a Finnish old way to spell the name. TsSKA is the right Finnish translittering nowadays, but I just hate it. ZSKA forever.

Like I hate Semin being Sjomin (in Finnish). It's Semin for me, that's how I learned to know the guy. Same goes to Fedorov, he should be Fjodorov used in Finnish, but it's Fedorov for me forever.
