If the price is right, I wouldn't mind him on the Preds. can't lost much though.

Actually he has a 2.33M cap hit with declining actual salary over next 2 seasons (2.1M and 1.9M)

Lombardi+Connolly+3rd for Frolik.

The reason the Leafs do it: opens up a roster spot for Kadri, plus a sort of reclamation project for Carlyle.

Why Chicago does it: Two (weak) reasons... Connolly is a very capable (but expensive) 3rd line centre, slightly strengthening their centre core. In addition, after this season Chicago is able to shed itself of one roster spot if they so choose to not re-sign either.

Note: at this point, I'm going to treat him like he's ~20 point player with 3rd line minutes, so is essentially a dump.

Here we go...
So Chicago dumps a salary for two bigger ones? Yeah no.

Since comming to the Hawks Frolik has been a failure.
9 pts in 28 games and than last season 15 pts in 63 games and a -10
Don't know what happen to him.He was projected to be much better than that.
His value is low right now.

I understand that, but Frolik is signed for three more seasons, as opposed to Connolly and Lombardi, which are done after this year.

That was my reasoning, for what it's worth.

No sense in trading him now when his value is at the lowest it's ever been.

Had his best season under DeBoer, good chance he ends up in NJ.

Lombardi makes it a no go. From what I have seen of him he has seemed largely useless on the ice apart from winning footraces. Would definitely consider a Connolly for Frolik swap, we have the space and I dont imagine that it would be put to much better use. I would be willing to experiment Connolly at 2C if it ends the Kane at center experiment.

I'm not sure what you are saying, but if you are saying guys that have had some bad luck in the past and just aren't playing well with their current team, then Zidlicky, Carter, Bernier, Sykora, and Poni all fit the bill. All looked like their former selves under DeBoer. DeBoer also was pretty adamant about bringing in Bernier and had some good words to say about Carter, which is why the Devils claimed him.

I could very well see Devils throwing a mid-round pick and a prospect for him. Probably less because he's only had one good season.

Ovechkin - Backstrom - Brouwer
Wolski - Ribeiro - Johansson
Frolik - Perrault - Laich
Chimera - Hendricks - Ward
Beagle

Of course I'm way off on the lines, but Washington looks better with Frolik.
he's not an upgrade on Chimera at this point. It would pretty much be between him and Wolski for the top 6 spot.

Intriguing if the cost is something like a 5th.

Is there any interest in Frolik? And what if any is his value?
As a Devils fan I would love to have him and would pay a pretty good price to get him. He is a perfect 3rd line tough minute player.

Wolski was our reclamation project addition, we don't need another. And we're already loaded with bottom six players and tweeners.
