He CAUGHT it first. Tate just put his hands on it afterwards. There's a HUGE difference and there's just too much at stake for this to keep happening.
It was the right call. Jennings had the ball before Tate, but Tate got his arm around the ball before Jennings got both feet down. It's simultaneous at that point. It's the correct call. It doesn't matter who wrestles it away on the ground.

No he really didn't. I'll defer to Jon Gruden. You can keep your opinion.
And they just read the rule on SportsCenter. Simultaneous catches are just that, if Tate gains "possession" at any point after Jennings catches it, it's Jennings' ball.
Deuces, replacement refs! At least, we'd better be saying that in the next few days.
Tuesday lunch is usually one of the slowest shifts of the week at the restaurant I work at. I think it's safe to say that we'll have something to talk about to kill the time.

Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3 It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control
And this ignores the pretty obvious pass interference on Tate as well...

All the old players on ESPN were willing to throw that one out, saying it happens on every Hail Mary play. But the rule you posted is pretty clear. And that's exactly how it went down.
Gotta feel for these refs, because they don't even know all of the rules. Understandable, as they've never reffed anything but college games.
TBH shouldn't be too hard if you're playing with a friend. Like the article says, all you have to be doing is going off for a line change, that's super easy...
seriously, the only two glitches in sports games i've seen that have made me laugh more then that are the "Cristo Redentor" glitch from NBA 2011 and the "Manny being Manny" glitch from MLB 2K9

I meant more emphasis on the ASAP part than the part about trying it. I'm swamped with homework this week, so i might not get a chance until Saturday.
So, apparently, Golden Tate's TD caused an estimated 200-250M to change hands.
Crazy.
I saw one site that just refunded all Packer's bet from that game. I'm assuming they didn't refund ALL bets, otherwise people's betting on the Seahawks would be pissed off and likely take all sorts of legal action... (Is it obvious I know nothing about sports betting?)
