They said they wanted to be sure that we'll get a good product on the ice. I think it will be like an all-star game (fast game but no fights etc).

Tickets are cheap, it's for charity and it's a nice way to see nhl player.

Wouldn't it be awsome if the Canadian provinces Ontario, Quebec, BC, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan all had an IIHF style series? Maybe a few American states could be included like Minnesota, Ohio, Michigan.

Team BC would have the best defense.

I'd like to see Brodeur suit up for one of the french teams. Would be so awesome.

We'll see what happens. So far i'm excited. I go to maybe 3 games per year at the Bell Centre. Now i'll be able to stay in my home town and watch a lot more live games. And with better players.

I was going to make a Toronto/GTA team, but I just cannot decide who to put on and who to cut. Just too many good names.

Its funny how excited people are for this. Ryan Smyth tried this last lockout and it bombed. I guess good luck to french fans who will have some "hockey" to watch

Uh yea...haha?

The idea of providence based teams, also including states/regions of the US, or just creating teams by draft with captains is great. Tickets are only 20$, very fair for the skill level. This returns us to the freedom and joy ice hockey is all about.

Dont underestimate the prairie provinces, there's a ton of talent coming from them despite their smaller population

Realistically, the best thing to do would be to completely boycott these events. Even though its for charity, if you want the NHL back anytime soon, you need to show you wont go to see some half assed pick up hockey, to the players.

I don't see how that would help anything?

Not a chance. It's like the first french all star league ever, I would be nuts to not watch it.

they are strange. many of the guys are montrealers / quebecers in the off-season, while others are hab players in town waiting for the season to start. the last list is guys who train in montreal in august before camps begin - like hamrlik for instance
