If I had a nickel for every goal against the bruins last year where a bruins fan here said, '****ing what is Krejci doing', well I may have a buck)

As for the proposal, IMO, Boston wouldn't do it. I think Krejci is the Bruins most expendable C and could be moved for a good winger, but not at the cost of moving Hamilton too. Dougie is in no way a sure thing, but there is too much optimism surrounding him to ship him off. I also would rather have Khudobin more so than Emery, I think he still has potential where as Emery is a bit of a journeyman now.

Imo, and some of this is obviously based off potential and high hopes

Kane > Krejci
Emery < Khudobin
Hjalmarsson < Hamilton

The value seems pretty close, and the bruins could use a winger, but I don't know if the gap between Kane and Krejci is worth giving up on Khudobin and Hamilton. Switch Hamilton with Krug and a pick and you got a deal.
Good post.

Soooo:

To CHI:
Krejci
Krug
3rd

To BOS:
Kane

Fair enough?

Not enough from Boston, but adding Hamilton would definitely be too much. Somewhere in between would be the only thing I'd do, Chicago prob wouldnt tho.

Thats fine by me. No way Kane nets Krejci + Hamilton IMO anyhow. I'd think *if* Boston were looking to trade Krejci for an upgrade at wing, it'd most likely be a scoring winger with some other element to his game, not another one dimensional Phil Kessel type. Bobby Ryan would fit well. Scored over 30 goals numerous times, & has a physical edge to his game. Still not worth Krejci + Hamilton however.

To the OP, thanks but no thanks. I'm a fan of Krejci's game and think as of now keeping him is the best thing. We could trade him this year, but having him locked in until 2015 at 5.25million is a bargain. Hamilton is also a keeper and is supposed to be that PMD we have been looking for. Even if this trade were to go through, the B's are tight right now at the cap ceiling. We would get roughly $4 million added to our cap if this trade were to happen. And if there is a lowered cap, the Bruins have to trade away some players which doesn't make sense to accumulate more players to raise us further above the cap. I don't think these two teams make good trading partners.

This deal isn't going to work out and if Krejci is moved I really prefer us targeting Keith Yandle like the previous rumors from the summer, that would be better for us going forward

That creates a huge hole in Bostons top-6.

In that scenario Seguin would slot into center, who would take Seguins spot on Bergerons RW? Peverly? Yikes. & this isn't even taking into consideration Horton's status. IF Horton has a down year statistically, or another concussion, you're down (2) RW's because there's a good chance Chia doesnt re-sign Horton.

Lucic-Seguin-(?)
Marchand-Bergeron-(Peverly)

That's a shoddy top-6. IMO IF Krejci is traded, a top-6 winger (preferably RW) must come back in return. Bobby Ryan would be a great fit.

This I agree with, I don't trade Krejci for Yandle unless we plan on getting another top six winger elsewhere. And with that said, I don't want to trade assets to acquire the top six winger wed need.

How many times have we done the Krejci to the Hawks proposals? Neither team can agree on his value.

Why would Yandle be a better move?

Our D core is fine and fits our system/style of play just fine as is.

Bobby Ryan is who I'd target, if we're trading Krejci. I know it's been proposed many times and I think it's because it makes the most sense.

Why trade for Ryan when you can get him for free? We could have another Parise/Suter situation with Ryan/Getzlaf.

Fair enough, but the OP trade is closer to fair value than that one.

I think you mean Perry. Ryan's under contract for the next 3 years (including this 1).

Even if you think that in a vacuum the OP is a good deal, there is no way it could happen in a Salary cap world unless somehow the cap goes UP dramatically.

Boston can't take an extra 5 million on in a deal, which is about what the difference in salaries would be in this proposal
