I heard it was a deal like, McColgan, Miller, Sauer, Hagelin, Bickel, 2nd 2013, 1st 2014 and Thomas

Nash-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Getzlaf-Perry
Pyatt-Stepan-Callahan
Rupp-Boyle-Asham/Halpern

Girardi-McDonaugh
MDZ-Staal
Stralman-McIlrath
Eminger

Lundqvist
Biron
Quantity =/= Quality...a concept that's lost around here.

The Ducks would've wasted little time in rejecting that.

i dont think perry gets 8mil per, especially if the cap goes down, that could be, give or take, 1/8 of your teams cap if he signs at 8 per. he'll probably get 7.5-7.8, so perhaps its possible he gets 8 per, no way he gets 8.5 tho.

in his last 5 seasons (out of 7, excluding his first 2 where his production was lower than what he regularly puts up) he averages 36.6 goals, 38.7 assists, 75.3 points. in those 5 seasons, he hit 25+ goals twice (one was on average to be over 30), 30+ twice, and 50 exactly once.

the first 3 seasons (of the 5 i averaged) he averaged 31 goals, then he scored the big 50, and then down, but the still high amount of 37. the only thing i worry about is how much do you expect him to produce? in the last 5 years, the first 3 years he averaged 31, but then to 50, and then to 37, he'll score you at least 30 (or should), but do you expect 35 or 40+, if he was consistently hitting the high 30's or breaking 40 and 50 he could be making 8+ mil, but he hasnt, he hit 50 once, and the upper 30's at 37 once, the other seasons he averaged 31. so do you pay him like you would a player that scores 30-33 goals, or one who scores 37+ who has the potential to break 40 and higher, because he's only played like that for the last 2 seasons. so i think this season will be important to see how he produces.

If the cap stays where it is, I as a Canucks fan, I'd easily give Perry $8.5... I'd just downgrade Ballard and Luongo (or Raymond + Maholtra instead of Ballard).

If everything gets pro-rated, pro-rate what I'm saying.

Why, exactly, are you referring to them as Burkie's boys? I see that a lot, but Burke did not draft them, Bryan Murray did. Burke just happened to inherit them, which helped lead them to a cup.

Rich Winter does not represent Ryan Getzlaf. I know this because Getzlaf's agent is my friends dad. They work for the same agency though.

I hope we're done with contracts that are over 6 years.

If I was Homer and Perry does hit UFA, I would offer 6 years 40-41 million(depending on the CBA. If they still allow long term contracts, than I am offering 10 years 68 or 11 years 70 million. If you need to, you can easily bump those numbers up.

6.5M a year? Not happening. He'll get 8M+ if he wants it, 7.5M from a contender.

Well I did say bump those numbers up if need be. I would just like to see what Giroux gets, maybe we won't give a player more money than him. 7.5-8 million is steep, especially if the cap drops.

Only way he gets less than 7 is if he resigns with Anaheim or goes to his dream team. Otherwise, he gets 7.

Why wouldn't he sign it before the lockout began then?

He probably does, he said he wants to resign. Just wants to see what the cba looks like. I'm guessing the deal will be finalized right after the cba is finalized.

The next deal could find Getzlaf commanding up to $8 million annually. Johannson said talks with the Ducks have gone well to this point but there’s been no discussion on term.

“I think we’re just waiting to see what the new CBA looks like, the new playbook we’re going to be working with and then we’ll be sitting down,” he said. “It’s all positive. You can certainly see that some teams are rushing to sign guys. But with Ryan, we’re just going to wait.

Once a new league agreement is worked out, Johannson said the plan is to get something done with the Ducks sooner than later.

“I would say that a priority for the Ducks and a priority for us is to work on a deal once this is settled,” he said. “I don’t want to set a time on it. Timing is unique. But that’s certainly a priority for both of us.”

Both sides just want to sign after the cba.

Besides the new CBA discussion in there, it sounds like what every free agent to be with his team says. I wouldn't put much stock into any of these reports until Bobby Mac or Dreger say they are getting closer. Also I am unbiased here, so I don't really care where Getzlaf lands, just my opinion.

I hope he stays in Anaheim, and Perry decides to join Giroux in Philly!

If we lose the season, I'll be surprised if a single free agent doesn't at least listen to what is out there in UFA.

Because both sides want to wait until the new CBA since there is no rush. This has been established for a long time.

I would have thought from the player's POV he would have rather signed long term now(Shea Weber even forced Nashville to give him that kind of contract through the offersheet) in case the CBA prohibits new long-term contracts.

It's likely more the owner's decision than Getzlaf's.
