Cool I'm guessing Hince, Pitt, Hayes and Piche(who's been rumored to signed with Greenville for a few months now) are all getting a crack at the AHL Camp. Some of these other camp invites could be here as well.

Whale quite possibly getting killed this year... yikes. Very thin on experienced and proven scorers, defense looks very thin too, hope Talbot can continue where he's left off last year, cus he'll need to. The Rangers have neglected the Whale, pretty obvious

P.S.: I hope I am very wrong though. Hoping for a whale of year

Jordie Johnston is someone the Rangers scouted when they were looking at Ferris State last season. Johnston signed an AHL deal with Bridgeport after his college season ended.

They might need Henley to play the Nightengale role. Don't want a 20 yr old 1st rounder taking on all of the veteran goons in the A.

Nick Tremblay was a Bruins prospect. Really fast but doesn't do a whole lot else. If he has a good motor and willingness he could turn himself into a nice PK, bottom-lines type. Something like we wanted Ryan Bourque to become.

Matthew Bissonnette is an interesting one. He's big and skilled, though apparently he hasn't learned to use his body well. There's also some reported concerns about his effort and makeup. He's talented though. Hartford needs more of that.

Bissonnette SO goal:

which players has the best chance to get signed??? i think Bissonnette has the best chance although i highly doubt it for some reason. i bet these players are here just to push the NYR prospects...

Who knows. Bissonnette and Tremblay are young and of a higher profile, and then guys like Flanigan and Johnston we know they've looked at before. Wiebe and Pitt could be signed and sent to Greenville (Wiebe was with HFD before). I don't really know anything about the rest of those guys. We shall see.

Sebastien Piche has signed with The Whale

Also to note Pitt and Hince are both Greenville Road Warrior signed players who are getting a tryout with CT. It's speculated Hayes is also a Road Warrior we have his ECHL Rights but it has not been officially announced yet that he has signed.

I think they'll score enough goals, but the defense is pretty thin.

i don't think the team is half as bad as you guys are acting, plus this AHL season is going to be pretty different considering the lockout will have a lot of NHL talent playing there.

i'll be at opening night, so i'll report back then

LOL BRENT HENLEY.
I am no AHL expert but is that F group not descent? I mean Kreider, Miller, Thomas are top prospects....Newbury, Haley, Segal, Kolarik have all done well in the AHL........Hrvik did well last yr........Yogan is a descent prospect..........the others are only asked to be 4th liners for the most part...........not sure why everyone worries.

Talbot is a good G no?

On D are Vernance, Pyett not AHL vets that can help the D? Anywho I think they will be fine, not awesome but fine

If Miller, Thomas and Yogan play like they can, I see no reason why that forward group can't be good with Kreider, Hrivik, Newbury, Segal, Kolarik and company.

You've also got Tessier, Grant and Haley. No Tanski this year. Bourque could improve. Guys like Kyle Jean are the dark horses.

I've never seen guys like Pyett and Collins play on D but they could easily be solid veterans. I'm not that worried. I think it all depends on whether Talbot can play like he did in the playoffs or not.

Expected this signing. Good, done on D. Maybe Not precisely this player but a gritty #6/#7 Defender was lacking. Especially with McIllraith injured. So, one more fwd left to be signed by the Rangers imo, will see when the year starts 1st though. Sather has a trick up his sleave here waiting and not signing any UFAs unil the CBA is done, this might be a nifty move when this bs is finally settled and some teams may face roster difficulties...

Anybody know of where one can see all the players signed by the Whale(pack)?

Thanx

Went to college with Flanny. In fact my junior year i lived right upstairs from him in one of the townhouses at merrimack, and across the hall from a lot of his teammates. Very nice kid off the ice got along with him well. Hockey wise I think you guys would like him a lot. He is a hybrid version of ryan callahan and is also from rochester like cally. He is gritty, not afraid to go into the nasty areas, will stick up for teammates if needed (though there isn't really any fighting in the NCAA), he'll throw his body around, good leadership ability, and is an average skater. He attended one of the rangers camps last year, I believe in august. I'm pretty sure he can play all three forward positions. I really hope he impresses and makes the team. He must have impressed enough last year to get an invite this year.

Easily one of the Pack/Whale’s most popular players in recent years, sources have told Howlings that in order to keep himself sharp during the lockout, Weise is considering a return to the place he loved to play, Connecticut, after receiving a lucrative offer to play with the Federal Hockey League‘s Danbury Whalers.

Me and my buddies (One is a Bruins fan; the other an Islanders fan) are making our ways from Philadelphia to Hartford/Bridgeport and attending the Whale home opener against Sound Tigers and the Sound Tigers home opener against the Bruins.

Going to be a 2 day, 2 night kind of thing. We are really pumped to get some glance of hockey and see some players who would regularly play in the NHL (Kreider, Neidereitter, Hamonic) and other talented prospects.

I'll be tweeting and all of that (@matthewbentz), this will be my first CT Whale game, but I have seen 2 Wolfpack games in the past couple years. One in Philadelphia, the other actually at Hartford.

Will be rockin' a home blue Kreider Rangers jersey to the game.

I was a sophomore at Plattsburgh State when Hince played there. He left to go pro, everyone kind of just laughed at it (Plattsburgh State is one of the best DIII's in the nation, but it's mostly canadian "kids" that went to Juniors, didn't garner pro interest, and still wanted to play while they got a degree), and it didn't go well for him at first. Forgot all about him until this roster came out. Good for him I guess. Kinda bizarre that someone I went to school with will be taking shots from guys like Kreider in camp.
