Which player combination would you rather have?

Because not much has been happening on the news front, i thought id present a hypothetical situation for you guys to gauge at. Before i start, i understand that it takes many, many, many "what ifs" and "what nots", but this is all for fun and for discussion purposes.

Anyways, because many members on HF like to use one year as an accurate description of one players career achievements, a lot of people on HF believe we should have drafted Couturier over Zibanejad.

If we did draft Couturier and he did have as great a year as he did with Philly with us, we would most likely not have traded for Turris.

By not trading for Turris, we would most likely still have Rundblad and there's a chance we take a highly skilled forward in this year's draft instead of Ceci. Someone like Teuvo Teravainen.

So essentially, what im asking is hypothetically, which combination would you rather have?

Turris, Zibanejad and Ceci (which we have now) or Couturier, Teravainen (or any other prospect taken after us) and Rundblad.

Personally, i like what we have now but others may disagree. This is simply for discussions' sake.

Too soon. Ask again when they all have at least a few games of NHL experience. We're comparing 'could be' with 'might turn out as'.

at this pace, a few games of NHL experience may take a year to come by.

1. Draft Dougie Hamilton
2. Trade Rundblad for Turris
3. Draft Ceci

Boom.

Karlsson
Hamilton
Ceci

too much fire power on RD, and too much faith in Turris' offense

More like:

1. Played McBackup more instead of riding Anderson once we signed him to the extension.
2. Drafted Landeskog
3. Trade Rundblad for Turris
4. Win 2012 Stanley Cup

I could see this happen in the short, middle and long term.

Turris > Couturier (already the case IMO)
Zibanejad > Teravainen (Zbad is a physical beast, the other, not so much)
Ceci > Rundblad (Ceci is a much safer bet to excel 2-ways, and has the NA Rinks experience already)

So I don't see the point in criticizing those moves when the potential is optimal... Oh ya, some people need something to whine about or they wouldn't make it through the day

Why we won games instead of getting Swedish Mike Richards I'll never know.

If everything is too soon then this lockout is going to be more dreadful than I thought. At least have some conversation about the future of hockey. Don't be so close minded.

Turris, Zibanejad and Ceci are the better trio.

There's no harm in speculation.

Honestly, I would have loved to see this play out.

1) Keep Runt.
2) Draft Couturier
4) Trade 2012 15th overall+Foligno for 2012 11th overall.
5) Draft Forsberg

1.Trade down from 6th overall in 2011 for 10th and 28th overall.
2. Draft: 10th-Bartschi 21st-Morrow 24th-Noesen 28th- Rattie
3. Trade our 2012 1st Rd pick for Turris.

Bartschi+Morrow+Rattie+Rundblad vs Zibanejad+Ceci+Puempel

Because in real life, no one plays to lose, except losers.

Losing on purpose is bad bad karma and an affront to your own honor

Personnally, I would quit being a Sens fan without hesitation knowing they were losing on purpose...

And "tanking" hasn't proved anything to me... Teams like the Devils and Red Wings never tanked and they had much more success than teams like the Oilers, Blue Jackets...

Finally, seeing things "like that" is way too simplistic, we'll never know what could have been...

Maybe Zibanejad ends up having a better career than Landeskog? Maybe Landeskog would have died or disappeared from hockey if he was drafted by the Sens? Maybe he wouldn't have fitted as much as Zibanejad possibly could?

We have no idea what could have been anyway and the butterfly effect has already made its marks. The right way is do what you're supposed to do and let it be.

Sincerely,

John Lennon
