Not quite ready yet to play 2nd line center and it seems like a classic sophmore slump. Just unable to do the right things with the puck. And he has been playing with Pulkkinen and their chemistries just haven't really clicked atleast yet.

Is he good staying in Finland - or do you think he's one of the crowd who should have downgraded from Euro-mens' league and just tried to dominate at the CHL level (i.e. playing 20 minutes a game against teenagers N. Am-style vs. lesser game-experience against adults?).

No, he's fine staying here. All the travelling he's done over the past summer (4 trips to the US) and the training missed due to that is showing. He'll be better next season after a "normal" off-season(which means he's not ready to come to NA a year from). He and Pulkkinen just have not clicked at any stage and in yesterday's game he center Jarkko Ruutu and Jani Rita. Pulkkinen's new line scored two goals and he opened his scoring for the season with an assist.
I know it's early, but Brandon Whitney has excellent numbers through 4 games for Victoriaville, despite only being 1-2-1 in those 4 games. He currently has a 2.22GAA and a .929sv%, with a SO.

any insight about this? league's too hard? team sucks? injured? planets weren't aligned properly?
Had another game tonight and wasn't much better. Played with Rita and Ruutu. He showed some flashes but gets knocked off the puck very easily. He doesn't/didn't use he's linemates effectively enough. Partly though, because they suck lol.
Maybe he has some small injuries or it's just general fatigue, he's skating and play doesn't have that jump.
I also think they should put him back at wing, so he wouldn't have as much responsibilities and could focus more on finding he's offense.
Victoriaville grabbed their second win of the season (2-2-1), beating up on Baie-Comeau 7-3. Phillip Danault had a hattrick and 4 points while Brandon Whitney stopped 34 of the 37 shots he faced. Danault now has 6 goals and 3 assists in 5 games played and Whitney is now 2-2-1, with a 2.38GAA and a .926Sv%, including a shutout.
At his age, Danault should be doing nothing less than cleaning up on the scoresheet in juniors, but it still makes me grin to see it actually happening.
He's gonna be a hit when he makes the big leagues.
Alex Broadhurst was held off the scoresheet in both games for London over the weekend. London scored a total of 2 goals in 2 games, losing to Kitchener and Guelph. London outplayed both teams, but couldn't finish.
Matt Tomkins has gotten off to an OK start this season.
5-2-0 2.97gaa 0.912 sv%
Not amazing numbers, but they are slightly skewed by one bad game where he conceded 8 goals on 44 shots. In five of the seven games his save percentage has been better than .925.
