LDS with a strong opening title and a solid showing in the last OT thread.

I'm just pleased that my "Draw!" post actually worked.

Someone post the stats from the last OT thread.

So I just had a half hour conversation with my Area Director of him trying to talk me out of leaving.

I so just wanted to say "I've made my decision leave me alone". Yet I don't want to.burn the bridge plus I've worked for him for a long time so I owe him as much as hearing him out.

The trick with those situations is that even if they offer you better compensation, why did they wait to do it now? Also, if you stay, you'll also be looked at as the guy who can never be 100% "trusted" again.

For what it's worth, if you know that all this guy wants to do is to convince you to stay, you'd be well within the professional norm to politely decline because you've already made your mind up and want to be respectful of his time. Anyone that would get fired up at you for doing so would have burned said bridge anyhow.

Totally agree with this.

If they wanted you that bad, they shouldn't have created a situation where you wanted to leave. Not personal, just business.

Unless they're giving you an insane offer to stay, AND you know you can deal with it, thank him for his time and move on.

Wife locked her keys in her car so I needed to go unlock her car. Took me an hour and a half, so now I have to stay late to make up the time.

Ironically, I got lost trying to find her, and ended up in Ulysses.

I've never gotten so lost that I ended up inside an ancient Greek. Bravo.

I go away for a two day leadership training and I miss the opportunity to win the OT thread. Bah.

As a side, I was in a training for leaders in my company. There were sixty people in the seminar.

Eight female.

I'm going to take up dentistry and move to England. That way I can afford the cars they drive on the show.

The english on the whole are hard to look at.

I read a stat at some point that stated that contrary to popular belief, Americans as a whole have worse teeth than the British.

Orthodontics is not as big a deal in Britain so there are more people with crooked teeth.

Speaking of Top Gear, an old rumor from 2007 has resurfaced that James May could be called upon to play the 12th Doctor in other BBC hit show, Doctor Who.

I would love that.
