pretty cheap for 5 years, but he does only have a career high of 29 points (though it was in only 56 games)

Shane Doan will make a decision in the next couple of hours between signing with Phoenix or (what is speculated to be) Vancouver.

Edit: decision may come in by 3:00 EDT.

Vancouver fans are happy with it, but I think that contract will turn into a bit of an overpayment.

I anticipate that he will no longer play with the Sedins, which will reduce his numbers significantly.

Shane Doan has signed a 4-year $21.2 million contract with $2 million in bonus money to remain with the Phoenix Coyotes.

The only way burrows will be able to live up to that contract is with the sedins.

Although booth, kesler and burrows could be a good 2 way line.

The next team to relocate might not be Phoenix, but Edmonton? Apparently owner Daryl Katz is trying his damndest to have the tax payer funding of a new arena in Edmonton to go up, and is threatening to take the puck and go to Seattle.

clicky

Just smoke and mirrors for the Edmonton City council to get them more money

Most likely, yes. Not the best PR move by Katz though, imo.

Toronto's draft history is terrible. They trade everyone decent away, the people they keep bust. That is, when they aren't trading off their first rounder.

That, and the Ryder Cup were the only subjects showing up in my tweets all day. I suppose it make sense when 90% of my follows are in the hockey world, and one of the subjects is the "future" of the biggest (or 2nd biggest) franchise in the sport...

Someone posted this in the most useless trade thread..

June 15 1992: The Winnipeg Jets trade Stephane Beauregard to the Buffalo Sabres for Christian Ruuttu.

August 7 1992: The Buffalo Sabres trade Stephane Beauregard and Future Considerations to the Chicago Blackhakws for Dominik Hasek.

August 10 1992: The Chicago Blackhawks trade Stephane Beauregard to the Winnipeg Jets for Christian Ruutuu.

October 1 1992: The Winnipeg Jets trade Stephane Beauregard to the Philadelphia Flyers for Future Considerations and a 3rd round draft pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

June 11 1993: The Philadelphia Flyers trade Stephane Beauregard to the Winnipeg Jets for a 3rd round draft pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft and a 5th round draft pick in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

Traded 5 times in a year and Winnipeg really couldn't decide if they wanted to keep him or not
