Out of these prospects on my fantasy squad, who do you think has the best chance of having a breakout season?
Leblanc, Louis C - MON
Palmieri, Kyle C - ANA
Tangradi, Eric C - PIT
Foligno, Marcus (R) LW - BUF
Morin, Jeremy (R) LW - CHI
Connolly, Brett RW - TB
Etem, Emerson (R) RW - ANA
Erixon, Tim (R) D - CBJ
Faulk, Justin D - CAR
Foligno 40-45 pts
Faulk - will still be limited in Carolina, but good upside moving forward, 32-35 pts
Emerson - Wild card, depends on opportunity
Erixon - fantasy value could go either way, probably not much offense this year.
By the time the season really rolls around in 2013, all the players will have another year of development. Where they play this 'off-season' will play a major role.
I would focus on next year, and just assume a write-off for this season at this point.
Right now, I would agree that the best to breakout are Foligno, Connolly, and Faulk if the season starts tomorrow. But Etem could be the the best of the bunch, he just might take another year or two to develop.
Homer pick for Palmieri, but like mentioned it looks like he'll play with Getzlaf and Perry. He also looked very good late of last season:
Looks like he's starting to find his scoring touch and confidence at the highest level.
I would also put Peter Holland over Etem on the list as far as Ducks prospects go. Etem has tougher competition, where's Holland only has Bonino to fight with for the 2nd line center spot between Ryan and Teemu. Boudreau has stated that the plan is to let Koivu center the 3rd line and he also seems to be pretty high on Holland.
As for the others on the list, I think Faulk could have a big year (if there will be one), maybe Foligno and Leblanc too.
