I dislike Kadri as a player, his antics in the playoffs made me lose all respect for him. Maybe I'm wrong, but if you want to make the NHL you have to have dedication and determination and this doesn't exactly show that.
C'mon, anyone who's watched Kadri on the Leafs or Marlies knows he just doesn't have the work ethic right now.

Maybe he'll grow up at some point, but he can be invisible for large periods of time. I can't say this is a shocker.

Does anyone have a recent pic? I have no idea what kind of body fat is deemed unacceptable by their standards.

I wouldnt think so

Kadri is worth a second or so

If he were included it would have to be kadri and 2 firsts

How does someone from Pennsylvania get to see so much of the Marlies?

The actual truth is that Eakins gave Kadri among the most icetime on the team.

I didn't say he alone would get a deal done, just that Burke would try fishing for takers, with Kadri as a centrepiece. I would be surprised if he's still a Leaf this time next year.

Exactly what "success" has Roberts had except his own of course. When he was with the Leafs we all heard about the special "shakes" he was giving Tucker, Corson and McCabe...

Roberts' training magic is Leaf media spin. You can't discount these reports, to be called out publicly like this has to ring the alarm bells loud. Obviously all the rumors of entitlement with this kid are true. Let's hope it's a wake up call for him.

Leafs can't trade him for Ashton...

Kaberle showed up to a leafs camp overweight and I'm pretty sure that guy has been overweight for an athlete his entire career.

NHL Network (AHL playoff games) and AHL Live.

I had way too much spare time last season.

What needs to be noted here is it has not mention in what kind of shape he is in now compared to last year. Was his body fat even more before? What his results worse last year? He clearly dominates the AHL... so if he has improved on what he was it can only be good.

Could you give me some examples of his work ethic on the ice?

this whole situation is purely ****ing ridiculous.

ever since he was drafted, kadri's been told "get bigger, get stronger" over...and over...and over...

so what does he do? hires gary roberts and gets bigger and stronger. guess what, with size and strength often comes higher bf%. now, he's getting thrown under the bus by his coach and fans for doing exactly what he was told.

Off the top of my head Stamkos, Skinner, Neal attribute some (a lot?) of their success to Roberts. I believe Mike Smith trains with him as well. There are many more, but I'd have to do a quick google search.

Considering that the Marlies didn't play the farm team of the Penguins once that is dedication above and beyond to watching the game of hockey. God bless you, man.

That and his diving, particularly against Abbotsford in their playoff series, which is really the only time I saw the Marlies play.

Nope, doesn't count because he wears a Leaf jersey and isn't leading the NHL in scoring. People need to give the kid a ****nig break, it's non stop criticism.
Honestly, if I was in Kadri's shoes and I got this much **** for everything I did while I'm developing, I'd have asked for a trade long ago, but he didn't and he is sticking with it.

BS, with the amount of cardio that hockey players do, he should be burning off those calories he's consuming for muscle building no problem

I think the most interesting thing about the whole report is twofold

#1. Eakins going public with the results has to be an attempt to light a fire, as posters have said. Otherwise, he'd just say in response to questions about Kadri "Well, some of the young players haven't mastered the art of eating healthy, it'll come, not naming any names." But instead to come right out and say his body fat is in the bottom 5 of the team, he had to know it would be story, especially with the lack of NHL hockey.

#2. That Kadri seems to disagree with Eakins assessment. He says his Body-Fat was higher than he had hoped but that he was in much better shape than last year. The whole situation is reminding me a lot of Vancouver and Hodgson when Vigneault made comments about Hodgson that seemed to indicate he believed Hodgson was milking his injury and the Canucks went to great lengths to say that they liked Hodgson and there were no problems there and Hodgson made similar statements, then in the midst of a very successful rookie season, he gets traded. You can't tell me there wasn't some bad blood there. The Leafs-Kadri wedding definitely seems like it's headed for divorce.
